94+ Points! The 2019 Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese is very clear and elegant on the discreet and subtle nose that intertwines very fine fruit and slate aromas. Remarkably piquant and vital on the palate, the acidity cuts the sweet and perfectly ripe fruit like a knife. This is highly stimulating in its piquancy and lingering salinity. 99 Points! From the C1 Block of Beckstoffer To Kalon, winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has worked with these Clone 4 Cabernet vines since 2005. This is a block bottling like many of the Schrader wines. Lush, generous fruit but with structure – all the elements amplified but on equal proportions. Explosive nose of rich black fruits, black olive, dried wild herbs and baking spices. Incredibly textural with pixelated three-dimensional tannins finishing with pops of dried tobacco and purple-red florals. A joy to drink but among the most collectable and cellar worthy wines of the vintage. The 'CCS' on the label refers to the initials of proprietor Carol Colesworthy Schrader. - Decanter Magazine

Offers a nice interplay of power and purity, with tarry violet and loamy incense accents. While tannic through the finish, this terrific version reveals a subtle ripple of acidity and a hint of iron. 98 Points! The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard CCS from the To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville is another heavenly wine in the lineup. I always find another level of purity in this cuvée, and the 2019 offers remarkably pure crème de cassis-like fruits as well as notes of white flowers, incense, toasted spice, and unsmoked tobacco. Full-bodied, deep, round, and plush on the palate, I love its tannins, it brings incredible richness while staying perfectly balanced and fresh, and it’s just already a joy to drink. - Jeb Dunnuck

99 Points! A big, muscular, powerful wine, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard T6 boasts a monster note of blackcurrants, fresh plums, scorched earth, tobacco, and chocolate. This all carries to a full-bodied 2019 with the ripe, savory, concentrated style of the vintage, building tannins, no shortage of fruit, and a great, great finish. It's certainly one of the biggest, richest, more structured wines in the lineup, yet the balance is spot on and everything is in the right places. It's going to take at least 7-8 years for this puppy to shed some of its considerable baby fat and hit maturity, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve for 20 or 30 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

97+ Points! The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon T6 Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is made from Clone 6, an old California heritage clone that's notoriously shy-bearing. The Rossi Vineyard is a 5-acre parcel on Madrone Avenue in St. Helena across the street from Spottswoode, planted in 1905. It was sold to the Rossi Family in 1937 and several years ago Carole Meredith of UC Davis tried to identify the vines. There were 11 different types, five of which could not be identified, but were possible clones of Syrah or Petite Sirah.

Stylistically it is indeed its own thing, full of deep black fruits, baking spices, plums, chocolate thin mint girl scout cookies on the nose. But on the palate, the mint character recedes, and the voluptuous fruit and spice take hold, a caressing black raspberry character with hints of potpourri, rhubarb (?) and roasted meats. The wine is a frigging meal unto itself! The flavors explode on the palate, leaving behind ripe luxurious tannins in its wake. The half a bottle remaining we kept around to look at the next day tasted even better after 24 hours.

From the winery: The object of Pleiades is to be delicious, delight the jaded, irritate the wine police and go well with anything red wine goes well with. 

Each component is crafted and aged in small quantities by traditional Thackrey artisanal practices. We produce premium single-sourced varietal wines, then age them individually before blending them into the final composition. Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Carignane, Pinot Noir, Viongier, and Petite Sirah all play a role in this performance. 

50% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella, 5% Molinara from estate vineyards in the Valpolcella Classica. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. Aged 12 months in large cement vats, then 6 months in large neutral Slavonian oak botti, then in bottle for 9 months before release.

The bright freshness of this Valpolicella hides a complex soul of ripe berry fruit aromas. Like a classic ballet dancer: elegant, agile, and tense.

94+ Points! The 2019 Barolo Castelletto La Villa is gorgeous. Dark and ample on the palate, the 2019 offers up a compelling mélange of black cherry, plum, licorice, cloves, tobacco and leather. This strapping, potent Monforte Barolo has a ton to offer. The 2019 is an especially fine edition. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Seiler Estate sources its Cabernet from their Estate vineyard located in the 'Glass Mountain' area of St. Helena. The estate vineyard is hidden in the eastern foothills of St. Helena below Howell Mountain. Winemaker Mario Sculatti was trained by the late Denis Malbec (former Cellar Master for Chateau Latour and winemaker at Kapcsandy) and follows his protocols closely to this day. Fruit from thisn site has been sold to Harlan, Araujo, Ovid, Arrow & Branch, and Drinkward Peschon and more recently the Estate grapes have also previously been purchased by Morlet, Caboud, Boswell, Hall and Lithology, wow.

What a wine! Silky, with ripe black currant and black cherry fruit, the wine is impeccably balanced for its imposing stature (a trait of Chateau Latour!) and one barely notices the obviously high-quality oak at play here.
