  3. Canon La Gaffeliere Saint Emilion 2018 Pre-Arrival
    WS95-98
    WE94-96
    JD94-97
    JS94-95
    WA94-96
    VM95-98
    $89.98

95-98 Points! The 2018 Canon La Gaffelière is extraordinary. Fresh, vibrant and bursting at the seams with energy, the 2018 takes full advantage of all the work Stephan von Neipperg and his team have implemented at their properties. Expressive floral and savory notes add myriad shades of nuance to a dark, sumptuous Saint-Émilion that melds together aromatic intensity and fruit richness. Even with all of its intensity, the 2018 retains an element of translucence that is beguiling. The blend is 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, which is to say a bit more Cabernet than in the past. Tasted two times. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

95-98 Points! A bright, mineral-driven style in the making, with the chalky aspect leading the way, quickly followed by a racy stream of red currant, raspberry and cherry coulis flavors. Has the grip of the vintage, but this is piercingly focused in feel. - Wine Spectator

    WS96-99
    JD95-97+
    JS97-98

    $239.98

96-99 Points! Intense raspberry and plum compote flavors show juicy energy, backed by a liberal dose of roasted apple wood notes. Grippy and still a bit chewy, but the drive is there, along with a buried mineral edge that lingers. - Wine Spectator

97-98 Points! Wow. This is very dense and powerful with linear tannins and vivid acidity that run straight through the center of the wine. It’s full-bodied with great freshness. Loads of blackberry character and a salty-mineral undertone. Extremely long in the finish. - James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

    $129.98

96-99 Points! Dark cassis, plum and cherry fruit flavors stream through in this red, harnessed well by bolts of iron along the way. Sweet tobacco detail echoes through the finish, which is seriously long. An extremely rock-solid wine in the making here. - Wine Spectator

97-98 Points! This is incredibly powerful and structured with so much tannin backbone and length, yet it’s cool and fresh with a compact palate and great length. Muscular. - James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

96-98+ Points! Cassis, graphite, blackberries, scorched earth, and graphite notes all emerge from the 2018 Château Lynch-Bages, which is a rich, blockbuster style beauty up with the finest vintages to date from this historic estate, which by the way, is just about complete with a massive new cellar construction project. Checking in as a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, brought up in 75% new French oak, it's incredibly concentrated, opulent, and sexy on the palate, with building underlying structure, a stacked mid-palate, and a great finish. It reminds me of the 2009 with its fleshy, powerful style. The IPT, or amount of tannins, is a through the roof 95 and it hit 14.1% alcohol with a pH of 3.66. It’s going to live for just about forever. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com

93-96 Points!  Solidly built, featuring raspberry and blackberry compote notes infused with black tea and anise flavors. Good energy matches the grip of the finish. Sneaky long too. - Wine Spectator

92-94 Points! Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Grandes Murailles leaps from the glass with bold baked raspberries and blackberry compote scents with nuances of warm plums, lavender and truffles. Full-bodied, the palate has a commendable structure of firm, super fine tannins and seamless freshness lifting the vibrant fruit to a long finish. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
