From the importer: Originating from vines planted on clay and chalk (tuffeau) soil, this wine offers the distinctive character of Cabernet Franc: deep and bright ruby color, fine aromas of red fruits (red current, cherry) and floral subtleties (violet, iris), fine and velvety tannin, with a fresh and balanced finish. Best served below room temperature (14 to 16º C), Clos des Cordeliers Cuvée Tradition is at its prime when young and is the perfect companion for cold meats, roasted meats, grilled fish and cheese.

A bouquet of ripe black and red fruits, the wine palate is full-bodied. It has a soft attack, but the sharp tannins that are drawn out in the aftertaste give it a perfect balance of “fullness and freshness.” This is a gourmet wine that maintains its presence when accompanying a spicy meal and also complements the most delicate of dishes.

Mourvèdre (15%), Syrah (25%), Grenache (60%) De-stemmed harvest, classic vinification with mid-fermentation pigeage and temperature-controlled fermentation (12 days).

This wine reveals uncommon elegance with a light frothy mousse, a fresh citrusy nose, medium body, crisp and dry. The Chardonnay gives the wine brightness and acidity, Chenin Blanc adds richness and Pinot Noir adds depth.

Blending: 50% Chardonnay, 40% Chenin Blanc, 10% Pinot Noir. Harvested by hand. Soft pressing in pneumatic press. Cold stabilization for 24 hours. Racking and fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Second fermentation in the bottle for 3 months. Disgorged between 12 to 24 months after secondary fermentation. 

96+ Points! Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Fonplegade opens with a very savory nose of smoked meats, tapenade, sautéed herbs and beef drippings over a core of plum preserves, chocolate-covered cherries and cedar chest plus wafts of violets and cigars. Another absolutely perfect wine in this incredible vintage, the 2020 Château Tertre Roteboeuf comes from a tiny hillside vineyard (5.6 hectares) and is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc raised all in new Radoux barrels. This show-stopping wine has everything and reveals a dense purple hue, incredible aromatics of cassis, vanilla bean, burning embers, graphite, and smoke tobacco, full-bodied richness, flawless integration of its tannins and acidity, and a massive finish. The finest wine I've ever tasted from this address, it's not going to hit maturity for another 7-8 years and will be a 30+-year wine. Hats off to the team of François Mitjavile for another singular, sexy, absolutely off-the-charts wine. - Jeb Dunnuck

From the importer: A dry sparkling wine from the northern reaches of the Bas Rhine of Alsace, a blend of equal parts of Chardonnay and Pinot Auxerrois (with a touch of Pinot Noir). The domaine’s small parcels yields limited quantities of this delighful wine, bursting with orchard fruits and mineral intrigue.

All of the vines are estate owned, and François’s focus is in the vineyard. The wines are made at the family’s estate, Château de la Tour in Clos de Vougeot, using identical viticulture and vinification as Château de la Tour. Labet’s common sense approach to winegrowing has brought good fortune through wines of extraordinary merit.

Located above Clos de Réas, the origin of the word "Chaumes" comes from that this land was left fallow for a long time before being planted. Les Chaumes is one of the oldest plots of the estate, planted in 1919 and 1920 there are still vines that are 100 years old, although some die of old age vines get replaced by young plants. The plot is located just below the Malconsorts Premiers Crus, it has a shallow soil where the rock goes up to certain place of the parcel. Millerandage is common in the plot producing small concentrated berries. Edouard notes that there is a bench of hard rock in the middle of the plot, where it is hard to get the pickets in.

This smooth, polished Savigny really shows off the warmer, riper, finely structured 2018 vintage. Full of red fading to black cherry, this beauty is drinkable now but another half dozen years in the cellar will fully round it into form...a delight and a deal!

A villages wine that ages in step with the finest premier cru bottles. Raphet selects old-vine fruit (60 years or older) from ‘Clos des Ormes’ in Morey, as well as fruit from premier cru Morey-Saint-Denis ‘Millandes.’
