From a 0.65 hectare parcel near the top of the slope south of the village, of which the upper part is the steepest vineyard in Chassagne. 60% of vines planted in 1985-1990, with the rest younger plantings. Aged 15 months in 228 and 350 L oak barrels, 35% new.

This minuscule vineyard (0.064 hectare) was formerly known as Montrachet’s Feet, as it links the Criots-Montrachet and Montrachet Grand Crus, explaining its strong connection to the Montrachet vineyard before the Grand Cru's current borders were finalized in 1921. Planted in 1981 by Thibault’s grandfather Ferdinand Coffinet. Aged in oak barrels, 35% new.

From a 0.8-hectare parcel of vines planted in the mid-1950s, the mid-1970s, and 2019, located close to the Encégnières and Vide-Bourse 1er Crus. Fermentation begins in tank, then the wine is aged in 228 and 350 L French Allier oak barrels for 12 months, 35% new. 

From a 0.81 hectare parcel planted in 1968 and 1978. Destemmed. Aged ten months in 228 L oak barrels, 30% new, 70% two-years-old.

From a 0.96 hectare parcel in the village of Chassagne, both the Santenay and Puligny sides, planted in 1988, 2001, and 2012. Aged in 10 months in 228 and 350 L oak barrels, 25% new.

The 2022 Château Giscours may be the finest wine this historic Margaux Third Growth has ever produced, and the critics agree loudly: 98 points from James Suckling, 97+ from Jeb Dunnuck, 96s from the Wine Advocate, Vinous and Decanter, plus a #1 spot on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2025. A blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot with dashes of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it's deeply colored, glass-staining stuff, packed with cassis, black cherries, violets and graphite, concentrated and intense yet carrying the ripe, polished tannins and pure, graceful mouthfeel that define great Margaux. The remarkable 2022 vintage gave this estate everything it needed, and Giscours delivered a wine with the perfume and silk of the appellation backed by decades of aging power.

The 2022 L'Hetre is 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that's from more limestone soils, with the élevage in 30% new French oak, with the balance in once-used barrels. Gorgeous black raspberries, black truffle, tobacco, and damp earth are just some of the nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, ripe, chalky tannins, and a great finish.

Decanter finds chocolate, mint, blackcurrant and dried herbs leading into a smooth, supple palate with a juicy core and refreshing acidity. Salinity and spice add seriousness to the finish, while the fruit remains pure and the tannins beautifully integrated. They call it an “easy-to-enjoy beauty.”

Galloni describes the 2022 as expressive, bold and punchy, with crushed flowers, mint, blood orange, sage and white pepper. What impresses him most is the wine's energy and vibrancy, with clean mineral notes driving the taut, mouthwatering finish.

Suckling finds a striking aromatic combination of violets, licorice, pencil, flowers and currants, followed by fresh mushroom nuances. Full-bodied but tightly compressed, the wine shows tremendous tension, exceptionally fine-grained tannins and energy. He emphasizes the extraordinary length and recommends giving it time.

Kelley calls the 2014 Latour one of the finest wines produced in a vintage particularly successful in the northern Médoc. Wild berries and cassis are joined by cigar wrapper, earth, black truffle and high-quality oak. The palate is full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with a deep, tightly wound center framed by chalky tannins and bright acidity. He sees enormous longevity here and compares its classical balance to a modern-day version of the 1996.

A driven, energetic Latour with mouthwatering acidity and a pronounced graphite character surrounding pure cassis and blackberry. Licorice and sweet tobacco emerge on the finish before the graphite returns and carries through the exceptionally long close. Molesworth gave a drinking window of 2022–2040.

Voss emphasizes the enormous tannic structure surrounding the blackcurrant fruit, along with spice and a pure, cool character. This is very much a traditionally structured Latour, with the fruit and tannins suggesting a long evolution ahead. His recommendation was to drink from 2027.

This is particularly useful for our offer because it's a much more recent tasting. Leve finds truffle, cedar, tobacco leaf, pencil, cigar wrapper, currant, cassis, blackberry and forest-floor aromas. The palate brings sweet red fruit together with spice and herbs, finishing with freshness and finesse. Importantly, he notes that this is one of the relatively rare Latours that can show real character without requiring decades in the cellar, although additional bottle age will bring greater complexity. Drink 2028–2060.

Dunnuck finds the wine still youthful and relatively closed, showing dark, meaty black fruit, tobacco, truffle-like earth and graphite. He considers it denser and more structured than he expected from the vintage, with full-bodied richness, an impressive mid-palate, excellent balance and plenty of tannin on the finish.

Galloni describes the 2014 as a more understated Latour, emphasizing finesse rather than sheer power. Red cherry and plum, spice, mint and sweet tobacco develop with air. He views it as a particularly classic expression of Pauillac and an excellent reflection of the cooler, late-ripening 2014 growing season. Drink 2026–2064.

This comes mostly from vines on the plateau between Fleys and Chichée to the southwest (the 1er cru Vaucoupin is on the other side of this plateau). From vines high on the east-facing slope of the river bank. Vines average 40 years of age. Haute Valeur Environnementale certified. Fermentation is begun with a neutral yeast starter (this is true for all of Fleys' wines), and this cuvée is made and raised entirely in steel. The domaine’s best Villages level Chardonnay. They keep only the finest one-third of their production to age and bottle; two-thirds is sold off to négociants.

This walled vineyard--see the photo that opens this page above--occupies the northeast facing slope in front of the house. The current 4.7 acres of Chardonnay were planted in 1972 and share the clos with two parcels of Aligoté, a parcel of cassis, and a small orchard of cherry trees. This is raised entirely in tank.

92 Points! Vibrant and harmonious, the 2024 Cotes du Rhone Lieu Dit Clavin Blanc opens with aromas of jasmine, white fruits, spices and herbs. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and enveloping, it remains fresh and lively throughout, concluding with a long, ethereal finish. Despite its modest Côtes-du-Rhône appellation, it surpasses more than a few whites from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. - Yohan Castaing, robertparker.com

Coming from the heart of this terroir and mostly from sandy soils with a small part of pebbly soils and even a touch of limestone, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Trois Sources delivers gorgeous aromatics of black raspberries, spring flowers, framboise, white pepper, and a beautiful salinity and minerality. It's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel with the juicy, pure style of the 2023s here, fine tannins, and a gorgeous finish. This is pure Grenache heaven with classic Châteauneuf du Pape power and richness yet paired with remarkable finesse and elegance. It should cruise for two decades in cool cellars. - Jeb Dunnuck

Another beautifully pure, juicy wine from this team, the 2023 Côtes Du Rhône Clavin comes from vines around the estate, just across the border of Châteauneuf du Pape in the northern part of the appellation. It offers blackberries, red cherries, violet, peppery herbs, and leather on the nose. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it has ripe, polished tannins and outstanding length. It's better than many a Châteauneuf du Pape and will keep for 10-12 years if you're so inclined. - Jeb Dunnuck

91+ Points! The 2023 Clavin wafts from the glass with aromas of flowers, dark cherries and mulberries, leading into a medium- to full-bodied palate that is round, juicy and fresh.
