‘Chapitre’ sits in the heart of the village, surrounded by a stone wall, lower on the slope. Soils are mostly clay-based. Historically, this plot was cared for by monks attached to the Saint-Vincent cathedral (also the patron saint of winemakers), established in the fifth century. Planted in 1958.

‘Maizières’ sits on gentle slope east of the village; soils are mostly clay-based. Estate vines planted in 1998. A special, southeast-facing vineyard that delivers a textbook Rully, with loads of ripe fruit and savory tannins. A stunning villages-level wine that will age well, too.

’En Guesnes’ is made up of two distinct parcels, separated by premier cru ‘Meix Cadot.’ East-facing, the plot’s soils are rich in clay. One smaller parcel planted in 1950; the larger one in 1978.

Hand-harvested. Cold maceration for a week; fermented on indigenous yeasts in tank. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (1/3 new), then six months in tank. Bottled unfined and unfiltered; all work follows the lunar cycle.

A blend of fruit from ‘Le Meix Cadot,’ planted in 1978 and facing east, under premier cru ‘Meix Cadot’; ‘En Rosey,’ facing east on a plateau to the west of Rully, and planted in 1974; and ‘Montagne de Remenot,’ facing east and planted in 1980. Soils range from rich, deep clay to pure limestone and a mix of the two.
