  2. Tenuta Greppo Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2001
    WS93
    WE96
    VM94
    $399.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! Biondi-Santi's 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is just as terrific in bottle as it was when I tasted it from cask last year. A dark, translucent red, it reveals superb freshness in its aromatics, with notes of small red fruits, spices, flowers, mint and anise that you could get lost in. It is perhaps less rewarding on the palate today, but its class is amply evident in the purity of its fruit and silkiness of its tannins. This is a wine built for tertiary development that will occur over the following years and decades. Readers who appreciate classically built, age-worthy wines and have the time to wait will find much to admire. In the meantime, this Brunello is all about potential, and there is plenty of that here. It is a great effort. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More
  3. Tenuta Greppo Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino 2006
    WS94
    JS95
    WA94
    VM94
    $219.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! One of the best Biondi-Santi's in years. This is really silky, with plum and chocolate and hints of cedar. Some citrus as well. Full body, with gorgeous fruit and a persistent finish. Give this another three to four years to open. - JamesSuckling.com Learn More
  4. Tenuta Greppo (Biondi-Santi) Brunello di Montalcino 2005
    WE92
    VM94+
    $199.98
    Availability:In Stock
94+ Points! The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino Annata opens with a fabulous, expressive bouquet of freshly cut roses, spices and raspberries, all of which carry through to the palate, where the wine reveals impeccable class and elegance, with just enough fruit to balance its angular, lean structure. Still, the 2005 is surprisingly round and harmonious for a young vintage of Biondi Santi, in fact, I had a hard time putting the glass down! Though medium in body, the wine offers gorgeous persistence and a long, exceptionally pure finish. I expect the 2005 Brunello to shut down in bottle, but readers who have an opportunity to taste the wine should not hesitate. Biondi-Santi did not produce a Riserva in 2005; instead the best of the fruit that is normally destined for the Riserva plus a selection of old vines near the heart of the estate were used for the 2005 Brunello. This is one of the unqualified successes of the vintage. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More
  5. Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2001
    WS97
    JS99
    $199.98

97 Points, Wine Spectator #1 Wine of the Year! Dark in color with intense blackberry, chocolate, and lightly toasted oak. Full-bodied and ultra-velvety, with tannins that caress your palate. Vanilla, chocolate and berry. Goes on for minutes. Mind-blowing. - Wine Spectator Learn More
  6. Montevertine Le Pergole Torte 2007
    VM96
    $169.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points! The 2007 Le Pergole Torte is rich, layered and sensual, all typical of this warm vintage. Bold red-fleshed fruits, spices, mint and rose petals are laced together in an expressive, resonant Pergole Torte built on pure texture. The 2007 is one of the raciest, sexiest Pergole Torte's in the estate's history. It can be enjoyed now or any time over the next 10-15 years. I don't expect to see the 2007 shut down, as it has always been open, rich and voluptuous. The 2007 has always been gorgeous, as it is once again today. Martino Manetti adds that while 2007 was a warm year, conditions never reached the extremes seen in 2003, nor were there any real spikes to speak of. Rather, temperatures were higher than normal over an extended period of time, but then settled back closer to normal in the weeks leading up to harvest. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media 2016 Learn More
  7. Montevertine Le Pergole Torte 2006
    VM97
    $199.98
    Availability:In Stock
97 Points! Montevertine’s 2006 Pergole Torte is also 100% Sangiovese, but it emerges from vineyards in Radda in Chianti. The late Sergio Manetti created Pergole Torte at a time when the Chianti Classico regulations dictated that white grapes be part of the blend in Chianti Classico. Manetti created Pergole Torte as one of the first 100% Sangioveses, a wine that at the time had to be declassified to Vino da Tavola, the lowest designation, but it did not formally comply with the regulations of any appellation. Of course, a bevy of pure Sangioveses followed, but Pergole Torte was among the first. It remains one of the great wines of Italy. On this night, the 2006 Pergole Torte is shockingly powerful, dense and structured, with big tannins that give the wine energy and vibrancy. Readers should be in no hurry to open bottles. What a wine! - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More
  8. Montevertine Le Pergole Torte 1996 Magnum 1.5L
    VM95
    $599.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! The 1996 Le Pergole Torte, from a cold, late-ripening vintage, is powerful and explosive, with a compelling interplay of ripeness, sweetness and structure. Cherry jam, wild flowers, mint, sweet spices, menthol and licorice meld together in the glass, while lavender, rose petal, quinine and a host of aromatic notes come alive on the finish. Although striking today, the 1996 will drink well for another 10-15 years, perhaps longer. Today, it is truly special. In 1996, the harvest began on October 21, exceedingly late, even for Montevertine. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media 2016 Learn More
  9. Antinori Rosso Di Montalcino Pian Delle Vigne 2016

    WS94

  11. Basciano Chianti Rufina 2016
    WS91
    JS93
    $11.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! Plenty of black-cherry and bitter-chocolate character here and, on the palate, there’s a lovely combination of bright fruit, crisp acidity and well-crafted, moderately dry tannins that give it a long and lively finish. Drink or hold. - JamesSuckling.com Learn More
  12. Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico 2015
    VM92
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points! Castell'in Villa's 2015 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous wine that will delight readers who enjoy the Chianti Classicos of this reference-point estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga. Crushed flowers, mint, licorice, dried herbs, cedar and tobacco give the 2015 lovely aromatic complexity. The 2015 is perhaps a bit more open than young wines tend to be here, but then again, 2015 is a warm vintage that generally yielded accessible Chianti Classicos. All that means is that the 2015 can be enjoyed with less cellaring than is the norm here. As it so often is, the Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico is a wine of real pedigree and distinction. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More

  16. Monteraponi Chianti Classico 2017
    VM90
    $27.98
    Availability:In Stock
90 Points! The 2017 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous, racy wine that melds together the natural richness of the year with the classic sense of mid-weight structure that is such a signature of this Radda estate. The 2017 is a bit richer and riper in feel than Monteraponi fans are used to, but it is impossible not to love the wine for its sheer deliciousness and approachability. Soft, silky tannins and lifted floral notes punctuate the finish. Best of all, the 2017 is a fabulous wine for the money. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More
  17. Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2015
    WS94
    $23.98

94 Points! Smells like a little Cabernet Sauvignon enhancing the Sangiovese in this black currant– and cherry-flavored red. Cedar, thyme, iron and sanguine notes round out the palate as this cruises to a lingering aftertaste. Shows excellent structure and balance. - Wine Spectator Learn More
