    JS96
    $44.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points! Beautiful clarity on the nose with lavender, raspberry and violet aromas. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long, fresh and simply fantastic finish. Best ever. Better in 2021. - JamesSuckling.com Learn More
  2. Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2015
    WS94
    $23.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! Smells like a little Cabernet Sauvignon enhancing the Sangiovese in this black currant– and cherry-flavored red. Cedar, thyme, iron and sanguine notes round out the palate as this cruises to a lingering aftertaste. Shows excellent structure and balance. - Wine Spectator Learn More
  3. Padelletti Rosso di Montalcino 2015
    $26.98
    Availability:In Stock
The Padelletti estate consists of 4 hectares of vineyards cultivated organically. The vines are all in one plot, called Rigaccini Secondo, located to the north of the town of Montalcino, at 430 meters above sea level (relatively high for the appellation). The soil here is medium-textured loam, rich in sandstone and alberese limestone with some galestro marl. They harvest manually, normally at some point between the 21st of September and the 20th of October, taking great care to choose only the best grapes in the vineyard to ensure wine quality. The average age of the vines is 15 years for the Rosso. The wines are made entirely of Sangiovese, and estate-bottled. In the cellar there is another selection for quality, with the grapes being allocated to different small cement tanks by their winemaker. Indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation; maceration time is about three weeks for the Rosso. After fermentation and maceration the wine is aged in large Slavonian and French barrels (‘botti’), the Rosso for twelve months. Learn More
  4. Castello di Volpaia Chianti Classico Riserva 2016
    DEC93
    $28.98
    Availability:In Stock
A selection of bunches from Volpaia's best sites among their 43ha at lofty heights in Radda-in-Chianti. The estate waited until 3 October to start picking in order to bring the grapes in at full ripeness. Distinctly peppery red fruits mark the nose, with rosehip, celery and anise backing them up. The palate is focused and bright with brisk acidity, though the tannins need time to unwind. Nice tension here. - Decanter Magazine Learn More
  5. Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva 2015 Pre-Arrival
    WS94
    JS96
    VM92
    $21.98

96 Points!  Aromas of plums, cherries and hints of green olives. White truffles and deep earth, too. Full-bodied, so layered and beautiful with a fabulous texture and ripe tannins. It is so pure and minimalist in the end, showing the effect of traditional, hands-off winemaking. Don’t miss this. Decant before serving. One for the cellar. Drink or hold. - JamesSuckling.com

  6. Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso 2013
    WA95
    $69.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points!  Although this wine is not labeled as a riserva, it is released six years after the harvest as if it were one. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso opens to balanced fragrances that mix fruity elements with spice, crushed stone and smoke. This wine is linear and direct with firm tannic support at the back. Give it another few years to flesh out further with additional bottle aging. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com

  7. Gaja Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino 2013
    VM92
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points!  Full ruby-red. Aromas of red cherry, blackberry, licorice and minerals. Juicy and tightly wound but pliant, offering smooth black and red fruit flavors complicated by licorice and fresh herbs. Classically dry and long, finishing with supple but firm tannins and a bright floral element. It’s hard to argue with this entry-level Brunello’s quality. I find it to be slightly underrated in many vintages, as all the attention is focused on Gaja’s two top Brunellos, the Rennina and the Sugarille. But this non-cru Brunello offers lots of high-quality wine for the price.

  8. Casanova della Spinetta Il Rose di Casanova 2018
    VM90
    $14.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
Pale pink. Grapefruit aromas are dominant on the nose and in the mouth. Tart and juicy, this tastes and smells like a pink-colored Sauvignon Blanc, so this will likely find many fans, but I was left scratching my head. Finishes bright and juicy. A blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Prugnolo Gentile (the biotype of Sangiovese typical of the territory of Montepulciano). - Ian D'Agata, Vinous Media Learn More

    DEC91
    JS92
    WA90
    VM91
    $17.98

91 Points!  The 2016 Chianti Classico is all class. Fresh, floral and beautifully lifted, the 2016 offers a terrific expression of the estate in its mid-weight personality. All the elements meld together in this effortless, classy wine from the family. The 2016 is quite accessible today, but it also has enough brightness to age nicely for a number of years. What a pretty wine it is.

  13. Piaggia Carmignano Il Sasso 2016
    JS93
    WA93
    VM92
    $26.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! Dedicated to the estate's paternal figure Mauro Vannucci, the 2016 Carmignano Il Sasso (with 40,000 bottles produced) is a compelling blend of 70% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. This vintage delivers ample power, yet the wine remains smooth and elegant from a tactile point of view. Sangiovese's identity emerges with aromas of wild berry, tilled earth and rose hip. The two international grapes serve to shape the firmness and structure of the mouthfeel. This wine is fermented in oak and later aged in medium-toast neutral barrique for 12 months. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More
