Disgorged in December 2024 with a dosage of one gram per liter, Dehours’s NV Brut Grande Réserve is built on the 2022 vintage and bolstered by 40% to 50% reserve wines from a perpetual cuvée initiated in 1998, it opens with expressive aromas of pear, peach, orange zest and honeysuckle. A great nose of orchard fruits, orange zest, spice, and a touch of crushed stone emerges from the 2023 Saint Joseph Mairlant Blanc, a medium gold-hued Saint Joseph Blanc from François Villard. 94 Points! A terrific Condrieu, the 2023 Condrieu Deponcins has tons of sautéed peach, honeyed orange, and perfumed floral and spice nuances on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied, ripe, round, and beautifully textured on the palate, with a good sense of freshness as well as a kiss of minerality on the finish. - Jeb Dunnuck

Villard makes four different Condrieu wines and three are single vineyards. Villard owns three hectares in the Poncins vineyard in Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône and makes two wines from this parcel. DePoncins comes from 25 year old vines. Aged for 11 months, without racking, in 30% new barrels and 70% in barrels that are three to five years old. Great intensity and minerality.

Cool fermentation in used oak barrels and six months of weekly bâtonnage bring richness and texture. Based on Bourboulenc, Viognier, and Marsanne, the 2024 Côtes Du Rhône Coudoulet De Beaucastel Blanc is a killer white offering honeyed peach, orange blossom, white flowers, and a kiss of minerality. It's medium-bodied, pure, focused, and elegant, with a layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish. This is legit fabulous stuff that's as good as many a top Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc and will drink beautifully over the coming 4-6 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

We were among the first in America to champion Thibaud Boudignon back in 2013, and today he's a bona fide rock star whose wines grace Michelin-starred lists across Europe and are heavily allocated stateside. Trained in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Australia before mastering the Loire, Thibaud farms a scant 5 acres organically, including Chenin adjacent to Nicolas Joly's famed Coulée de Serrant. His Rosé began as a favor to his California importer and has become a cult classic. Sourced primarily from old-vine Cabernet Franc around Anjou, native yeast fermented, and aged 4-6 months in stainless steel, the 2025 delivers the varietal intensity and terroir of a fine red Chinon in pink form: minerally, savory, and saline, with a juicy punch of watermelon-inflected fruit that keeps you coming back. At $23.98, it's world-class Rosé for half what a comparable (or lesser) Provence bottling would cost.

From shallow soils on grey schist, ryholite (volcanic soil) and sand, 35+ year-old vines. Vinification in French + Austrian oak barrel (various volume), indigenous yeast fermentation. No malo-lactic fermentation. Aged in barrels of 350L and 700L volume, up to 30% new.

96 Points! Always more muscular and powerful than Armailhac, there's no surprise that this has closed down more than its sibling. The complexity of the layers are still on display, showcasing fresh menthol, cranberry, white pepper, black olive, rose and blackberry, all wrapped up in a tight tannic hold. There are some wonderful toasted caramel notes, subdued but rich and tight, waiting to show their exuberance on the finish. There's no doubt that this is as good as I thought en primeur, but it needs time to open up, and I would suggest the full 10 years. 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Carmenere finish up the blend. - Decanter Magazine

96 Points! An outstanding Clerc Milon and probably one of the recent best. This shows depth, richness, juiciness, complexity and nice fluidity in the middle. Fine, svelte tannins with graphite, black currant and paprika flavors. Juicy and medium- to full-bodied with a long finish. 55% cabernet sauvignon, 29% merlot, 13% cabernet franc, 2% petit verdot and 1% carmenere. - JamesSuckling.com
