Spirits

Arette is produced by the Orendain family at the historic El Llano distillery in Tequila, Jalisco. The brand honours Mexican Olympic-winning heritage and uses estate-grown Blue Weber agave, traditional craftsmanship, and minimal intervention. The Artesanal Reposado rests for approximately 11 months in American white oak barrels to achieve balance and depth. 

Tasting Note:
A delicate golden colour greets the glass. The aroma begins with gentle cooked agave, soft tropical fruit and a hint of vanilla. On the palate you’ll find baked agave layered with light oak, butterscotch and baking spice, finishing with a dry-toasty texture and smooth warmth.

Nose : Very complex, slightly smoky and meaty with fruity, herbal and sour notes building up. Next vanilla come forward, almost pastry-like, with cooked banana, bitter orange peel and ripe pineapple.

Palate : Dry, with a more floral and fruitier profile of rose water, soursop, pear, white grape, apricot and sugar-apple. Next some coconut milk, balsam, allspices, bread and nuts emerge.

McConnell's was first established in Belfast by in 1776 by a pair of brothers, disappeared in 1958 and was then revived once more! This here is the 5 Year Old from the range, a blend that has been matured in American oak barrels. A enjoyably spicy Irish whiskey!

Davorin Kuchan has been distilling spirits since his early days as a winemaker and eau-de-vie expert back in Croatia. When he established Old World Spirits here on the San Francisco Peninsula (right outside of Belmont), he brought with him the traditions and expertise of old world production methods and used them to formulate West Coast versions of his original spirits. Using a unique finishing process (including granite and active charcoal sedimentation) and an ultra-slow, subsonic, continuous, multi-stage filtering process, Davorin has created a California version of his old St. Blaise vodka; a tribute to the patron saint of Croatia. Based off his eau-de-vie and grappa filtration methods, the idea is to polish and soften the spirit without striping the inherent character. The vodka is proofed with soft California Sierra spring water. The final product is soft, supple, and slightly creamy in texture with accents of sweet fruit in the background. It's one of the most pure and elegant vodkas we've ever tasted.

From the distillery:

The Argonauts of the Gold Rush were charmed and captivated by Sam Brannan’s claim of gold in the American River. His proclamation proved the catalyst to a new era in American history, accelerating Westward expansion. For this Second Edition of The Claim, our pioneering distiller Rita Hansen pulled from these special stocks to create a magnificent blend of the rarest and most unique California Brandies. The Second Edition of The Claim has a lush aroma of plum and cherry, with notes of dried fruit leather, apple, brown spice, and toasted oak. The deep red fruit flavors carry over to the palate, complemented by layers of dried fig, apple pie, and baking spice. The long finish is rich and elegant, with seamlessly integrated fruit and oak.

From the Distillery: Our very first bottling of The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength happened by chance. In 2017, whilst reviewing parcels of stock from 2007 and 2008, our Master Distiller Billy Walker was so delighted by the balance and depth of the samples that he immediately decided to add a younger expression to our core range.

The GlenAllachie Cask Strength Batch 7 is a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons along with a small quantity of Virgin Oak and Rioja casks. The resulting whisky bursts with indulgent notes of of ripe plums, dark chocolate and sticky raisins, all coupled with classic GlenAllachie honeyed charm.

Batch 7 is bottled at 56.8%, non chill filtered and natural colour.

NOSE
Waves of heather honey, dried fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by orange peel, mocha and treacle.

TASTE
Lashings of dark chocolate, figs and heather honey, with raisins, cinnamon, plums and hints of orange zest.

Each bottle of LALO is 100% pure. We distill only twice to maintain the integrity of our agave, and add no flavors or additives. With LALO, our ingredients are only agave, yeast and water to honor the complex essence of agave.

NOSE: floral, with a hint of vanilla bean and caramel pudding

PALATE: floral with brown baking spices and browned butter, vanilla crème, caramel, and a hint of cinnamon

MOUTHFEEL: light and smooth with vanilla bean and cinnamon spice filling the mouth cavity, hint of mint

FINISH: medium length finish with toffee. Spice and vanilla fade.

Noble Oak Rye is an award-winning rye whiskey with a worthy purpose. Combining a spicy high-rye mash bill with a double oak maturation process, this whiskey is first aged in American oak barrels and then finished using port wine oak cask staves, delivering unrivalled flavor and complexity. The interplay of sweet and fruity oak spice with robust grain notes is balanced and enjoyable.

Some eastern spices have a tendency to take over, to dominate the palate. Not this syrup. Reminiscent of a middle eastern syrup-soaked tea cake, bright cardamom floats to the surface while darker, moodier clove sits quietly in the backdrop, leveling cardamom’s green sweetness with a spicy flair. As any of our simple syrups, it’s perfect with vanilla ice cream (or go crazy and mix your own homemade batch using the syrup); we also think it’s spectacular in an Old Fashioned, or mixed with apple cider, bourbon, and a touch of Amaro for a festive fall cocktail.

The perfect addition to cocktails in need of a little something extra. Sweet and tangy, with an almost gelatinous texture reminiscent of glycerin or aloe, it strikes the tongue with a nice, sharp acidity that’s mouthwatering and leaves you wanting more. A faint note of citrus that doesn’t lean any which way toward lemon, lime, orange or grapefruit is both haunting and lingering, while mellifluous notes of calendula and yarrow, other unknown plants that conjure wheaten fields in the summer sun, mellow the acidity and round out the flavor profile.

Sugar and spice and everything nice. This chocolate-infused bitter boasts a powerful, toasted coffee kick that livens up whiskey and rum, alike. It’s nutty and peppery but with the ghost of sweetness.
