91+ Points! The very young unoaked red 2021 Rayos Uva looks for fruit-driven aromatics showcasing the approachability of Rioja Baja, where the wines can be juicy and tasty. It was produced with a blend of 40% each Garnacha and Tempranillo and 20% Graciano, quite different from the wines from the past, with 13.5% alcohol and good freshness and balance. It fermented destemmed and was kept in tank until bottling. The village red 2019 El Reflejo was produced with Bobal grapes from 15 separate plots in the process of being certified organic in Casas de Benítez and Pozoamargo close to the Júcar River, all within five kilometers of each other on limestone soils. In 2019, they harvested earlier, looking for more freshness, and with slightly higher yields guided from the pruning. They used 50% full clusters in the fermentation in 3,300-liter stainless steel vats that was quite soft, with a total time of 21 days. The wine matured in a combination of tinajas, concrete vats and 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for a total of 14 months. The very young and juicy 2020 Evodia comes from a year with more rain than average and moderately warm temperatures that resulted in an early harvest of a generous crop that delivered wines of lower alcohol (14.5%) and more freshness. It fermented with some 20% full clusters and had a very soft vinification and extraction with no pump-overs. This is always very aromatic (it's what the name means), and in 2020 it's even paler and more ethereal then the 2019 that was already impressive and quite a change from previous vintages and other wines from the cooperative. Only 20% of the volume matured in oak and the wine is not oaky at all and has contained ripeness and very light extraction. This is bright and elegant, fresh and very pleasant to drink. 91 Points! The 2020 +Altitud is a regional Garnacha from the villages of Navatalgordo, Navalmoral de la Sierra, Navarredondilla, Burgohondo and Villanueva de Ávila. It has 13.62% alcohol and a low pH of 3.32, denoting freshness. It fermented in concrete, oak vat and stainless steel, depending on the paraje, or plot, with around 50% full clusters. Then it matured in concrete and tinaja, except for 20% that aged in used 500-liter French oak barrels, for 14 months. It has a floral and perfumed nose with red berry and herbal aromas, imperceptible oak, a medium-bodied palate and fine-grained tannins with the granularity of the granite. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

91 Points! A bright lemon colour with green hues in the glass, this Albariño showcases bright fruit plus refreshing acidity. The fruit is lean: citrus, green fruit, then moving into stone fruit. Salinity and brininess on the palate call for seared scallops or shrimp. 91+ Points! The 2019 Finca San Martín is pure Tempranillo from the younger vines on richer soils, the grapes not used for Martelo that deliver rounder and fruitier wines. It fermented in stainless steel for 14 days with a slow malolactic of 74 days and matured in 60% new American oak barrels and 40% second-use French oak barrels for 16 months. 91 Points! This year, the 2019 Sologarnacha Amphora Aging was produced with grapes from a vineyard planted in 2017. It's "only" 13.5% alcohol (most of the other wines are much higher in alcohol) and has a perfumed and floral nose, showing some lightness after a short maceration to keep the more ethereal part of the variety. The white 2021 Blanco was produced with a blend of Viura, Garnacha Blanca and Malvasía de Rioja that fermented in oak vats and new French barriques and matured with the lees and two bâtonnages per week in the beginning and later daily for a total of four months. It's balsamic, a little medicinal and aromatic. They keep growing in Garnacha Blanca with very good results.
