  1. Terroir al Limit Priorat Terra de Cuques 2018
    JS95
    WA92+
    $49.98
    Availability:In Stock

92+ Points! The ripe red 2018 Terra de Cuques is a 50/50 blend of Garnacha and Cariñena from different vineyards around the village of Torroja (there are some grapes from Poboleda, a cooler village) that fermented equal parts in stainless steel and concrete; it matured in concrete and foudres but with the intention to abandon the aging in oak in the near future. It has lots of notes of licorice and Mediterranean herbs, intermixed with ripe berries and very little impact from the oak. The palate is round and reveals abundant grainy tannins. This is a powerful Terra de Cuques. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

Already drinkable, but give it another year to allow it to develop more complexity. - JamesSuckling.com

  3. Cune Rioja Imperial Reserva 2018
    WA94
    $44.98
    Availability:Out of Stock

94 Points! The red 2018 Imperial Reserva keeps the brand profile of finesse, precision and power, produced with grapes that were picked between October 8th and 26th in a year like in the past—cold, rain and snow followed by a warm summer. It's a blend of Tempranillo and 15% Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha that were put through optical sorting and fermented in oak vats with a 20-day maceration. It matured in barrel for 24 months. It's 14% alcohol and has a pH of 3.57. It's a textbook Reserva from Haro, fine-tuning the grapes they use here trying to control the power of this cuvée, which has to be powerful but keeping the freshness. This is quite young and lively, quite impressive, really very good, getting close to the complexity of a Gran Reserva but with the extra oomph of its youth. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  7. Clos Figueras Priorat Clos Figueres 2018
    JS94
    WA95
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock

95 Points! The 2018 Clos Figueres follows the path of cleanliness and precision of the 2017 in a better vintage. It's Garnacha and Cariñena from old vines with Cabernet sauvignon, Syrah and Monastrell, which seems to be a Mediterranean grape that is coming out of the closet in Priorat. It fermented and matured in new and second use 300- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. It's powerful and ripe at 15% alcohol, but with a low pH and good freshness. It's nuanced and complex and has elegance and some floral notes, with a more developed nose compared to the younger 2019 and 2020 tasted next to it. This has to be one of the finest vintages of Clos Figueres ever. 5,150 bottles were filled in February 2020. - Luis Gutierrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

94 Points! Aromas of dark plums, lavender, dried thyme, cloves, black olives and chocolate. It’s full-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Supple and velvety. Sweet spices and chocolate on the long, elegant finish. Try from 2022. - James Suckling

  9. Remelluri Rioja Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida 2018
    JS94
    WA94+
    $29.98
    Availability:In Stock

94+ Points! Produced with grapes from suppliers, the 2018 Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida comes from a cooler and wetter year not without challenge. A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano, it fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in barrels of different sizes and origins for 13 months. This is more reticent and serious, with a grainy sensation on the palate, beautifully textured. It has more austere tannins. This is probably the finest vintage for this wine so far. 2018 has produced many great wines. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  10. Dominio De Bibei Ribeira Sacra Lacima 2018
    WA95
    $49.98
    Availability:In Stock

95 Points! I love the subtle and elegant red 2018 Lacima. It is a bright translucent ruby color and has a beautifully perfumed nose with an explosion of red fruit (pomegranate) and flowers with a spicy and herbal touch. It's a blend of 75% Mencía, 20% Brancellao and the rest Mouratón and Sousón. The palate reveals pungent flavors, very good ripeness and balance; it feels very open and inviting. There is a note of blood and fresh meat that complicates the nose. It finishes with long, dry and clean flavors that last for a long time. There's stuffing, freshness and balance to develop nicely in bottle. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

    WA94
    $36.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! Tasted next to the 2017, the 2018 Las Sabias stole the show. It has ripeness, depth and complexity, and the palate feels very harmonious in the Titán XL style. It's still a baby that needs a little bit of time to polish its tannins, and it should develop for a long time in bottle. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  12. Villota Rioja Viña Gena 2018
    DEC94
    JS93
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock

93 Points! Very pretty berry and chocolate aromas with mocha and cedar. It’s medium-to full-bodied with linear tannins that run down the wine and finish in a bright and persistent fashion. Give it two or three years to soften. Drink after 2023. - JamesSuckling.com

94 Points! The Pérez-Villota family's holdings are right next to Contino (in fact, they used to be part of the same estate) and date back to the 1930s in the case of this varietal Tempranillo from vines close to the Ebro River. Chalky, intense and focused, this has bramble and blackberry fruit flavours, stylish oak and undertones of incense and wild herbs. Structured, serious stuff with supporting acidity. - Decanter Magazine

  16. Cuentaviñas Rioja Alomado 2018
    JD93
    $54.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! Coming from the Ribarrey Vineyard, which was planted to Tempranillo, Viura, and Malvasia in 1960, the 2018 Alomado offers a gorgeous bouquet of black raspberry and currant fruits intermixed with plenty of cigar tobacco, toasted spices, flowers, and espresso nuances. This carries to a more medium-bodied red that has a lively, elegant texture, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. A wine that builds nicely with air, it's going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 10-15. - Jeb Dunnuck Learn More

  17. El Escocés Volante Garnacha El Cismatico 2018
    WA95
    VM94
    $44.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! The 2018 El Cismático was produced with old-vine Garnacha from the villages of Villarroya de la Sierra and Cervera de la Cañada, four small vineyards. It fermented in open-top vats with 20% full clusters and was punched down by hand. They wine matured in second use 500-liter French oak barrels and some concrete for 13 months. As a lot of the reds are completely unoaked, this felt quite oaky and creamy, one that needs a little more time in bottle to absorb the impact from the wood. The wine is floral, expressive, showy and exuberant, peachy and juicy, with very fine tannins, with good acidity and balanced alcohol, harmonious, reflecting a slow and good ripening of the grapes. Most of these reds are showy and exuberant, not shy wines at all, generous and hedonistic. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
  18. El Escocés Volante Macabeo Viñas Viejas Manda Huevos 2018
    WA93+
    $26.98
    Availability:In Stock
93+ Points! The regular white 2018 Manda Huevos Blanco Carramainas was produced with grapes from the single vineyard that is mentioned on the label. There is a skin-contact version of grapes from this same plot, but these grapes were harvested 12 days earlier than those destined to ferment with the skins, as the aim here was to achieve higher acidity and freshness and let the lees rather than the skins be the ones defining the style of the bottled wine. This is 95% old-vine Macabeo with only 5% Garnacha Blanca, with good ripeness and bright acidity. It fermented after a slow pressing and one night of settling in 500- and 900-liter oak barrels, where it was kept with the full lees for two months. It was then racked into Flextank (plastic) eggs with fine lees and then matured for another 12 months. It has a Burgundian profile, going back to the style of the 2014, in a leesy and smoky style, still very young and undeveloped. There's also something that reminded me of old-style white Rioja. The palate is vibrant and has pungent citrus acidity. It feels like a white to lay down, as it should develop nicely in the bottle. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
  19. Veronica Ortega Bierzo Quite 2018
    WA93
Special Price $19.98 Regular Price $29.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! This is a red that is perfect for the by-the-glass market: the 2018 Quite is light and perfumed and has the Atlantic freshness of the 2018 vintage. It starts off a little reductive, and decanting it in advance could be a good idea if you pull the cork any time soon. 2018 has been a slow-developing vintage—the wines are evolving slowly, and this feels very young and tender. It's floral and elegant and has less alcohol than any other vintage, so it's a little lighter and more delicate and subtle. They harvested slowly, the vinification process was paused and the development of the wine quite slow. This has a velvety texture, but it always has structure, juicy berries and very fine tannins. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
  20. Raul Perez La Vizcaina Bierzo La Poulosa 2018
    WA93
Special Price $29.98 Regular Price $44.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! La Poulosa is quite regular and ripe, with notes of prunes, and even though there is more freshness in 2018, the 2018 La Vizcaína La Poulosa shows closer to the 2017, keeping the profile of the vineyard, which is very strong. In fact, there is only half a degree difference in alcohol between this 2018 and the 2017. There is more fruit here, and it's juicy and approachable, with integrated oak (they started replacing the 225-liter oak barrels with 500-liter ones), more freshness and a livelier palate. The tannins are round, with no edges, despite the fact that all the La Vizcaína range ferments with 100% full clusters. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
