The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos la Verchère La Maréchaude 1er Cru comes from limestone and marn soils that Julien Barraud explained are structured like a millefeuille for six meters, ergo, very resistant to hydric stress. This has a precise and focused bouquet with yellow fruit, lanolin, desiccated orange peel and pressed white flower scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a very elegant opening. The purity is striking, with perfectly pitched acidity and a persistent, quite mineral-driven finish. This will be irresistible, yet it will age for many years. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

95 Points! From vines that were planted in 1910. This is aromatically similar to the regular cuvée but there is notably more concentration, power and dry extract to the broad-shouldered flavors that pushes the very firm tannic spine to the background on the hugely long, palate coating and driving finish. This opulently full-on effort is a manifestly old school Clos de Vougeot that is not only very much built-to-age but is going to require lots of it. In a word, excellent. - Allen Meadows, Burghound

From the domaine’s 0.50-hectare holding of 50-year old vines just outside the Maranges appellation, southwest of the winery. It is aged in tank and older barrels. Medium-bodied and supple, this wine shows red fruit (strawberry, cherry and cassis) and soft, well-integrated tannin.

From the importer: High in the hills above Pernand-Vergelesses and to the west you’ll find ‘La Garenne,’ a cool plot of older Pinot Noir vines (50 years+ on average) that delivers a juicy, joyful rouge that will make your mouth water. Bright red cherres, licorice, baking spices.

From the importer: A rare white from “sol rouge,” this premier cru ‘Clos Saint-Jean’ is sourced from grapes the estate purchases. Facing east at the top of the slope, ‘Clos Sain-Jean’ delivers a white Burgundy with a savory red-wine profile, with notes of red berries and yellow stone fruit, wonderfully mouth-filling and plush.

The estate’s “baby” Chambertin! With vines more than 70 years old and soils just as noble as those of premier cru vineyards just a stone’s throw upslope, ‘Clos Village’ is really the heart and soul of Gevrey. Round and harmonious, with plush purple fruits and an abundance of silk. Winemaker Damien Livera can walk from his cellar door directly into the heart of ‘Clos Village.’
