The 2023 Ode to Lulu Rosé is composed of 76% Mourvèdre, 16% Syrah, and 8% Grenache, sourced predominantly from centenarian vineyards in Contra Costa and Sonoma County. Picked at lower potential alcohol and whole-cluster pressed, the goal here is to highlight the beautiful aromatics and freshness while also feeling the natural weight of old vine Mourvèdre. What we have always loved best about the great Mourvèdre-based rosés of the world (Bandol being the most famous) is how they capture the piquant pink grapefruit and stone fruit fragrance of the variety while also letting the savory tarragon and wild herb pungency shine through. If the red wines from the variety tend towards earthiness and a terrestrial (sometimes downright funky) character, the best rosés have lip-smacking deliciousness and are almost terrifying easy to drink while being capable of developing complexity in the glass. We are very pleased with the 2023 and feel it to be a worthy iteration of what is one of the most acclaimed rosés made in the Golden State.

The NV Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé is also terrific and offers a juicy bouquet of wild strawberries, red currants, peach, and some subtle leesy notes. It’s a fruit forward, nicely balanced, elegant Crémant that’s going to be incredibly versatile on the dinner table.- Jeb Dunnuck

From the winery: In this blend of four emblematic Provençal grape varietals, each plays a distinctive role: Grenache noir 65%, Syrah 15%, Cinsault 15% and Rolle 5%. Grenache contributes roundness, delicacy, and subtle aromas, while Syrah adds power and color. Cinsault, known for finesse and fruity notes, gently balances the strength provided by Grenache and Syrah. Rolle, the iconic white grape of Provence, introduces a touch of tension, freshness, and floral notes to complete this well-balanced blend. The grapes are pressed directly, followed by a cold alcoholic fermentation process. Vinification and maturation unfold in stainless steel tanks and concrete vats, meticulously preserving the freshness and natural aromas inherent in the terroir and grape varieties. Aging for several weeks on fine lees imparts complexity and smoothness to the wine, all the while upholding Roseblood’s signature elegance and delicacy.

94 Points! This is a new classic rosé from Fleur de Miraval with rose petals, iron shavings and some orange peel. Medium-bodied with zesty orange peel, rose petal, chalk and hibiscus on the palate. Dried strawberry and iron. Lovely balance of acidity. Juicy. Lightly dry finish. Based on the proprietary reserve. White from 2019 and red 2019 blends. 97 Points! This is a stunning new release from Fleur de Miraval. The best year. Aromas of peaches and flowers with cotton candy and citrus. Hints of cherries and other berries. It’s full-bodied with very fine bubbles and a creamy texture. It’s fluffy on the palate, like feathers floating through the air. Salted caramel and sweet pastry in the aftertaste. Some earthy, soil character, too. So complex. This has been made from a base of the 2018 vintage. 25% pinot noir and 75% chardonnay grand cru (50% is proprietary reserve blends from 2007 onwards, and 25% is from opened bottles of blanc de blancs Champagne, dating back to 1998) This is really unique. 93 Points! The supremely elegant 2022 Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice is a pretty pink with orange hues. It opens with a blend of orange zests, tangerine and cracked slate. This enters the palate with a silken bead of bubbles contrasted by a sour burst of citrus as exotic inner florals and candied ginger nuances swirl throughout. A subtle grapefruit hint emerges through the crisply refreshing finale as the 2022 slowly tapers off. This is a blockbuster Radice. Stunning vitality due to the bright and fine mousse plus the lively acidity. Long and elegant finish that pulls you back for more. Firm and focused, this finely knit version offers a satiny texture and hints of smoke and oyster shell, which underscore flavors of pureed raspberry, peach skin and blood orange granita, with a rich touch of toasted brioche. 93 Points! The NV Brut Rosé No 3 Grand Cru is a pure Bouzy Pinot Noir that gets its beautiful intense onion-skin color from the addition of 8% red wine. The nose is rich and complex but at the same time pure and refined, with a nice chalky layer and vinous fruit intensity. Round and rich but fresh and vital on the pure and elegant palate, this is a full-bodied, pretty intense and persistent rosé to be served with main courses.
