  3. Francois Villard Saint Joseph Poivre et Sol 2020
    VM93
    $31.98

93 Points! Glass-staining ruby. An expansive bouquet evokes ripe black and blue truits, candied violet, bacon and cracked pepper. Shows very good depth as well as energy, offering appealingly sweet cherry, blueberry, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that take on olive and woodsmoke nuances with air. Shows excellent clarity and spicy cut on the impressively long, gently tannic finish, which leaves repeating floral and spice notes behind. Made with two-thirds whole clusters. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media

  4. Eric Et Joel Durand Cornas Empreintes 2020
    JD96
    $38.98
    Availability:In Stock

96 Points! More density and depth, as well as precision, emerge from the 2020 Cornas Empreintes, a smaller production cuvée from 30-year-old vines. Its deep purple hue is followed by a beautiful perfume of black and blue fruits, bloody meat, pepper, and spring flowers. I love its focus and length on the palate, and it's medium to full-bodied, with plenty of tannins, a great mid-palate, and a salty, bloody finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It's a “wow” Cornas for sure. - Jeb Dunnuck

    $179.98
    Availability:In Stock

97 Points! The flagship 2020 Cornas is a beauty! Clearly in the same league as recent top vintages, it has a wild bouquet of black and blue fruits, liquid violets, game, and iron, with some incense and spice thrown in for good measure. It's slightly more round and sexy compared to the more powerful 2019, but it’s perfectly balanced, with ripe tannins and a great finish. This heavenly Cornas will be drinkable in just 3-4 years and evolve for two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck

  7. Lionel Faury Saint Joseph Blanc 2020
    WA91-94
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock

91-94 Points! In tank awaiting bottling at the time of my visit, Faury's 2020 Saint Joseph Blanc is the usual 60-40 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne. Pear, melon and citrus notes abound on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, reasonably rich but balanced, with a lingering hint of citrus pith on the long finish. It looks to be a bit longer-lived than the broader, fatter 2019 version. - Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

96 Points! The 2019 Cornas is one hell of a base Cornas that should be snatched up by readers. Full-bodied, concentrated, and flawlessly balanced, with a texture like silk, it offers a kaleidoscope-like array of red and black fruits, tapenade, smoked game, black olive, and Asian spices. It’s a thrilling wine to enjoy over the coming two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck

99 Points! Lastly, the 2019 Cornas La Sabarotte is a candidate for the wine of the vintage in Cornas, and it’s about as thrilling as they come. Much riper and sexier, it reminds me of a great Hermitage from the Meal lieu-dit and has lots of cassis and blackberry fruits, notes of violets, ground pepper, iron, and some gamey meat, full-bodied richness, velvety tannins, and an awesome finish. It’s a big, rich, sexy wine that will take 4-5 years to shed some baby fat and have two decades of overall longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck

    $69.98
    Availability:In Stock

96+ Points! The flagship 2019 Saint Joseph Le Paradis Saint Pierre ranks with the crème de la crème of the vintage, yet like most of the top wines, it's going to need bottle age. Deep ruby/purple-hued, it offers a gorgeous nose of black raspberries, cassis, cured meats, crushed stone, pepper, and dried flowers. Full-bodied, concentrated, and structured, it has the ripe, up-front, spicy fruit that's the hallmark of the vintage as well as the firmer, building tannins that will require at least 4-5 years of bottle age.
