91 Points! A blend of Grenache and Syrah, generally in about a 4:1 ratio, the 2020 IGP Cotes Catalanes Narassa features appealing, complex aromas of violets and plummy fruit, reminiscent of blackberries and blueberries. Picked as two separate harvests—one in September and one in November—and then blended, this is full-bodied, richly concentrated and fleshy, with a velvety finish that shows a touch of warmth. It's winter-weight wine, for sure. - Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com

Tasted twice, two months apart, with consistent notes, the 2020 Côtes du Roussillon Bastide Miraflors is a 70-30 blend of Syrah and Grenache, aged in demi-muids and concrete tanks, respectively. There's a hint of peppermint, but the primary focus here is on the fruit, ranging from blueberries and mulberries into darker notes of plum and dark chocolate. 10. Domaine de Baron'Arques Chardonnay Limoux 2020
    JS93
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! Mostly Chardonnay, the 2020 Limoux Blanc is a terrific white that has real class in its aromatics as well as texture. Light gold-hued, with a great nose of poached pears, honeyed citrus, crushed stone, toasted hazelnuts, and white flowers, it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness that carries terrific mid-palate depth, bright, racy, yet brilliantly integrated acidity, and a crisp, clean, lengthy finish that brings an undeniable sense of salinity. A seriously good white, it deserves 2-3 years of bottle age (it needs a decant if drinking any time soon) and will evolve for over a decade. Bravo. - Jeb Dunnuck

93 Points! This has very pretty energy and focus with sliced melon, pears, stone and fresh ginger. Dried flowers. Citrus, too. Medium-bodied with a solid density of fruit with white peaches and honey. Tangy and flavorful. Drink or hold. - James Suckling.com

  11. Domaine de Baronarques Limoux 2020
    JD94
    JS94
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! The red from this estate is also more than notable. Based on Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep ruby/plum color of the 2020 Limoux is followed by classic Bordeaux-like aromatics of ripe darker cherries, smoked tobacco, damp earth, and cedar pencil, with some background chocolaty oak nicely integrated. Reminding me of a Pomerol from a ripe vintage, it holds onto rock-solid purity of fruit, has a seamless mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. This head-turning red from the south of France is one of those beauties that will shock you in a blind tasting. It should keep for at least a decade. - Jeb Dunnuck

94 Points! Lots of blackberries, dark chocolate, stone, and hazelnut. Lots of purple fruits. Full-bodied with polished tannins and a smoky, meaty and fruity finish. Very solid. Merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and malbec. Drink after 2025. - JamesSuckling.com

How do I say that this wine is even better than Jean-Marc Lafage and Eric Solomon's Novellum project? Oops, I just did. This is serious Chard from Lafage and Solomon, sourced from a single vineyard of old vines on deep red clay soils and alluvial gravels with, yes, fossils mixed in...

Maybe it’s psycho-sematic with the Meursault-based winemaker, but there’s a whiff and a streak of that Meursault grilled nut character in this broad, expressive Chardonnay to go along with the core of apple/peach fruit.  A lick of citrus, a hint of wild herbs, and flecks of spice add nuance to this energetic Chardonnay that has plenty of weight but sports more of a European elegance front to back.  Long, lively, and delicious, most folks wouldn’t pick this out a being from the south.  It could easily hang with a lot of villages level white Burgundies with the most noticeable difference being the price tag.
