The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos la Verchère La Maréchaude 1er Cru comes from limestone and marn soils that Julien Barraud explained are structured like a millefeuille for six meters, ergo, very resistant to hydric stress. This has a precise and focused bouquet with yellow fruit, lanolin, desiccated orange peel and pressed white flower scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a very elegant opening. The purity is striking, with perfectly pitched acidity and a persistent, quite mineral-driven finish. This will be irresistible, yet it will age for many years. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

From the importer: Olivier owns 1.6 hectares of 40-year-old Chardonnay in En Pres Forêt, situated at 240 meters altitude with sandy, stony soil atop schist mother-rock. Aged 90% in stainless steel and 10% in used 500-liter oak barrels, this cuvée is both generous and elegant, with a pronounced saline streak and the ability to evolve well for a decade or more in bottle.

93 Points! Slightly more prominent wood frames aromas of ripe apple, fennel, wet stone and a plethora of citrus elements. The rich, concentrated and impressively scaled big-bodied flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also buffers the firm acid spine shaping the bitter lemon zest and beautifully long if youthfully austere finish. This is muscular but not rustic vintage for En Buland, which always ages well, and the 2021 version should be no exception. - Allen Meadows, Burghound #92

92 Points! Pungent aromas of wood toast and reduction suppress the nose at present so a quick aeration should help. The very rich and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors possess a seductive texture that carries over to the detailed, moderately austere and compact yet sneaky long finale. 93 Points! An elegant and markedly floral-suffused nose features airy aromas of essence of white orchard fruit, anise and citrus confit. There is excellent richness thanks to the impressive density of sappy dry extract that adds materially to the sense of volume of the medium-bodied flavors that also display fine length on the equally compact, serious and built-to-age finale. 92 Points! A discreet though easily discernible dollop of wood sets off the cool, airy and layered aromas of petrol, green apple, acacia blossom and overt citrus scents. There is almost painful intensity to the borderline aggressively mineral-driven flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere, chiseled and very dry finale. The rich, generous and full-bodied flavors possess good power while delivering fine length on the palate soaking, clean and dry finale where a touch of rusticity slowly emerges. Otherwise, there is excellent vigor and minerality to the attractively textured medium weight flavors that terminate in a moderately dry and youthfully austere finish where the supporting acidity is also lemon-tinged. 92 Points! From holdings at the top of the slope, exposed to the west, the 2018 Mâcon-Verzé unwinds in the glass with notes of pear, confit lemon, white flowers, warm bread and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's fleshy and elegant, with a seamlessly layered mid-palate, bright acids and a saline finish. - William Kelley, robertparker.com
