90 Points! The village red 2019 El Reflejo was produced with Bobal grapes from 15 separate plots in the process of being certified organic in Casas de Benítez and Pozoamargo close to the Júcar River, all within five kilometers of each other on limestone soils. In 2019, they harvested earlier, looking for more freshness, and with slightly higher yields guided from the pruning. The wine matured in a combination of tinajas, concrete vats and 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for a total of 14 months. From Wine Enthusiast top NA wines: Digital Senior Editor Sara Ventiera was blown away by this offering when she sampled it at Anajak Thai in Sherman Oaks, California, where sommelier Ian Krupp put it on the menu.
“Produced by serious winemakers out of Alsace, it’s light and crunchy with nice bubbles,” Ventiera says. “I was surprised by how closely it resembled the real thing—and it paired perfectly with the spicy drunken noodles and laarb meatballs.”
Learn MoreHURRY, ONLY 5 LEFT! - Klein Constantia Vin de Constance Sweet Wine 2019 500mlDEC98JS97VM97JA98$55.98Availability:Out of Stock
98 Points! Vin de Constance takes the category of sweet wines to a new level and this is another stunning success from them. Expect succulent pear quince apple peach pit tarte tatin wonderfully seductive and opulent but never taking a single step over the line. - Jane Anson
98 Points! Butterscotch, lemon patisserie and peach aromas. Pristine quality to the texture, lively and thrilling, this is a serious, opulent and powerful wine, more on the spiced, nuanced side with aspects of dried herbs, wood scents and bitter lemon and orange with a touch of honeyed lychee. It feels supremely complex and characterful. Sophisticated, layered and balanced with some minerality, a slight graphite edge all of which adds to the whole. It's still extremely youthful but there is real sculpting here, a sense of precision, style and freshness. Well crafted with an extremely long life ahead. A wonder, and one of the best from the estate! - Decanter Magazine
- Lustau Moscatel Superior Emilin SherryWA96$26.98Availability:In Stock96 Points! The non-vintage Moscatel Emilin Solera Reserva is the sweetest sherry in this group as well as the easiest to appreciate as it is made from 100% Moscatel...These are all remarkable efforts for their stunning value. While they are still under-the-radar for most American wine lovers, I encourage readers to give them a try as they are great introductory reference points for how profound sherry can be. I first wrote about the extraordinary sherries of Emilio Lustau many years ago, in the early days of The Wine Advocate. The portfolio of under $25 a bottle selections represents remarkable value for their complex, well-made personalities. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
