The village red 2019 El Reflejo was produced with Bobal grapes from 15 separate plots in the process of being certified organic in Casas de Benítez and Pozoamargo close to the Júcar River, all within five kilometers of each other on limestone soils. In 2019, they harvested earlier, looking for more freshness, and with slightly higher yields guided from the pruning. They used 50% full clusters in the fermentation in 3,300-liter stainless steel vats that was quite soft, with a total time of 21 days. The wine matured in a combination of tinajas, concrete vats and 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for a total of 14 months. It's floral and perfumed, quite showy, open an expressive with a medium-bodied palate, focused flavors and fine tannins. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

This wine is also thick and darkly concentrated but not to the same degree as the version made with fruit from old vines. Indeed, it's fun to try these two bottles side by side. 94 Points! The Köfererhof 2021 Alto Adige Valle Isarco Sylvaner (of which 90% sees stainless steel and only 10% see oak) starts off with a dusting of crushed limestone and rock salt. That delicate veiling lifts to reveal white fruit, grapefruit and quince. Then, after that wave of beautiful high-acidity fruit passes, the wine reverts back to those distinctive mineral notes that recall the gravel soils of glacier origin found in the vineyard. The wine leaves your senses feeling absolutely refreshed and revived. A new submission from this historic estate, the Bovio 2021 Barbera d'Alba Il Ciotto is vinous and very primary with raw flavors of blackberry and ripe plum. The wine exhibits a thickened and darkened appearance with blackberry or black cherry confit. This thickly concentrated red has soft tannins and a dense, cushiony texture.
