93 Points! Abutting the Albola estate, which it was once part of, Poggerino counts 12.5 hectares within the UGA of Radda. While the wines exhibit the elegance and succulence of the zone, they have a denser, darker expression than some of their peers. The 2021 clearly demonstrates this concentration while remaining pure and fresh. It is replete with spicy wild woodland berries hemmed in by terracotta-like tannins. 93 Points! Part of the Scarrone Vineyard was replanted in 1989, and these younger vines give rise to the Vietti 2020 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone. This wine is also thick and darkly concentrated but not to the same degree as the version made with fruit from old vines. Indeed, it's fun to try these two bottles side by side. The 2017 Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico Riserva has youthful, transparent, much brighter aromas than many earlier vintages with spice, oak, cream and ripe, red-fruits like cherry on the nose. On the palate, there is a much better intensity of sweet red fruits and the tannins are gentle and more refined. The palate feels unforced with a lighter touch overall and a better harmony and balance. There is a very long finish with mouth-watering acidity and fine tannins giving a savory, salty finish. - The Wine Independent

Those scorching summer temperatures have been expertly absorbed, and the wine never feels jammy or heavy. The mid-weight finish is fine and graceful. Blends very nicely on the medium-bodied palate and both the fruity and savory elements latch onto the medium tannins nicely, to give good drive and decent length. Nicely controlled. 93 Points! This is the first vintage of the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Mulino from Pertimali, a lower-elevation cru that’s noted for the high level of marine fossils found in its soils. Here I find a classic display of dried roses, black cherry, dusty earth and freshly-tanned leather. It envelopes the palate in fleshy textures offset by a mix of tart wild berries, zesty acids and savory spice, as building tension puckers the cheeks, seeding them with fine-grained tannins. This comes across as structured yet remarkably balanced, and it’s a beautiful expression of the vintage.
