  1. Clos des Cordeliers Saumur-Champigny Cuvée Tradition 2018
    $16.98
    Availability:In Stock

From the importer: Originating from vines planted on clay and chalk (tuffeau) soil, this wine offers the distinctive character of Cabernet Franc: deep and bright ruby color, fine aromas of red fruits (red current, cherry) and floral subtleties (violet, iris), fine and velvety tannin, with a fresh and balanced finish. Best served below room temperature (14 to 16º C), Clos des Cordeliers Cuvée Tradition is at its prime when young and is the perfect companion for cold meats, roasted meats, grilled fish and cheese.

  2. Raats Cabernet Franc Stellenbosch 2018
    VM94
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! The 2018 Cabernet Franc Family, aged in 25% new oak (Vicard and Mercurey cooperages) for 18 months, easily possesses the finest nose of the three Cabernet Francs that I tasted from Raats, with soaring red berry fruit laced with bell pepper, powdered dark chocolate and gravel. The fresh, vibrant palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, fine acidity and a very precise and sustained finish. This is an outstanding Cabernet Franc. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

  3. Jean-Maurice Raffault Chinon Clos de l’Hospice 2018
    WA93
    $31.98
    Availability:In Stock

93 Points! From an extraordinarily steep, south-facing one-hectare vineyard that is shaped like a natural amphitheater and overlooks the Vienne River, the 2018 Chinon Clos de l’Hospice is made from the fruit of 10-year-old vines after the once-famous vineyard had been partly restored (0.65 hectares) in 2008 by Rodolphe Raffault after a century of wildness or misuse as a garden. Meanwhile, the whole plot has been replanted again, and it's all planted with pre-WWII massal selections. Macerated for a month and vinified in 500-liter barrels for one year, the 2018 is dark in color and opens with a deep, pure, fresh and concentrated bouquet of perfectly ripe dark and red fruits intertwined with finely flinty and smoky notes. Full-bodied, crystalline and elegant on the palate, this is a juicy, finessed and excitingly spicy Cabernet Franc with lots of charm but also depth and natural tension. This is an impressive, pure and fruity Chinon whose richness and warm ripeness is well countered by firm tannins and the vibrantly fresh, mineral acidity. - Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com

  4. Matias Riccitelli Cabernet Franc Viñedos de Montaña 2018
    JS94
    WA94
    VM94
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! The intensely spicy and peppery 2018 Viñedos de Montaña Cabernet Franc is an aromatic expression of the grape, where I also found floral nuances and some herbs. The flavors were pungent and penetrating, with good depth and small-grained tannins. It was produced with grapes from two different vineyards, one in Los Arbolitos in Chacayes at 1,150 meters above sea level and the other one in Campo de los Andes at some 1,300 meters in altitude. I loved the nose, and the palate was nothing short of phenomenal also, nicely textured and with serious tannins, spicy and herbal, and with a dry, austere finish. - Liuis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  5. Chateau de Chaintres Saumur-Champigny Vieilles Vignes 2018
    $21.98
    Availability:In Stock
From the importer: The vines that plunge the deepest into the tuffeau below are bottled separately, with the “Vieilles Vignes” cuvée comprising parcels ranging from 50 to 80 years of age. Maceration is extended here up to 30 days (the 2018 underwent 25 days), and aging occurs in a combination of stainless steel and used barrels of varying shapes and sizes (demi-muid, cuve tronconique, various foudres). Despite the expected increase in concentration and structure with this wine compared to “Les Sables,” the same sense of freshness permeates this wine—making it “très digeste” indeed. Tannins are again graceful, but the underlying sense of minerality is more assertive here, contributing a salty-savory edge absent in the more fruit-driven “Les Sables.” Learn More
