  1. Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva 2017
    WS93
    WA96
    VM93+
    $69.98
    Availability:In Stock

96 Points! The 2017 Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano is darkly concentrated and among the richest wines in this series of single-vineyard Riservas. Montestefano is angular, textured and bold with dark fruit aromas, dried blackberry, toasted almond and cured tobacco. With this vintage, you get an age-worthy wine that offers brawn and power for drinking in the medium term, but it will become increasingly silky and slender with time. Dusty tannins and crushed stone appear on the long finish. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com

  2. San Filippo Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere 2017
    DEC96
    JS96
    $99.98
    Availability:In Stock

96 Points! Le Lucére is a single vineyard of 3.5ha planted in 1996 below Salvioni and La Cerbaiona in Montalcino and producing about 13,000 bottles annually. Gentle fruit handling and a short maceration contribute to the graceful style of this Brunello. It ages in a combination of big oak casks and small barrels for a total of two years. What, in my opinion, could explain the exceptional freshness and the unwavering elegance of this Brunello is the eastern exposure of the vineyard on the northern side of the village. The dried cherry fruit is lifted with thyme and blood orange, a touch of wax and deep hints of smoky woodland. The palate is dense and velvety, with greatly refined tannins and predominantly floral flavours. Organic. - Decantyer Magazine

96 Points! The purity and brightness of nebbiolo is so impressive here. Strawberries and blue fruit abound. Full-bodied, yet tight and very polished with a long, persistent finish. Very transparent and appealing. Drink in 2025 and onwards. - JamesSuckling.com

96 Points! The 2017 Barolo Monvigliero marries the raciness of the year with the floral lift and elegance of this great Verduno site. More than anything, the 2017 is a Barolo of pure and total sensuality. Even so, there is more than enough tannin to allow the 2017 to drink well for many years to come. It is very clearly one of the wines of the vintage. The rich, substantial finish is a thing of real beauty. , Vinous Media

  5. Cervantes Blacktail Proprietary Red Blend MMXVII Napa Valley 2017
96 Points! The 2017 Blacktail Proprietary Red Blend MMXVII is a blend of 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Malbec, 23% Petite Sirah and 4% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it is a little closed to begin, requiring some swirling to reveal a seducing perfume of lilacs, baked plums, blueberry pie and spice cake with hints of potpourri, unsmoked cigars and chocolate mint. The palate is medium to full-bodied and concentrated, but not in the least heavy, delivering layer upon layer of perfumed black fruits and a velvety texture, finishing fragrant and long, long, long. It is an exercise in polish and poise. 305 cases were made. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, robertparker.com Learn More

97 Points! Extremely perfumed with plums and dried flowers, as well as walnut and hazelnut undertones. It’s full-bodied with a solid core of fruit and chewy, polished tannins. This has gorgeous linear drive with solid tannins. Really excellent. Give it four to five years to come together. Best after 2025. - JamesSuckling.com Learn More

96 Points! Vietti's 2017 Barolo Lazzarito is absolutely gorgeous. Whatever the challenges of the growing season, they appear to have been no problem here. More than anything else, the Lazzarito impresses with its magnificent depth and stature. Super-ripe red fruit, white pepper, mint, tobacco, cured meat, spice and rose petal open gradually with time in the glass. I would not be in a rush to open bottles anytime soon. The Lazzarito has been one of the most improved wines at Vietti for a number of years. The 2017 is so captivating. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More

96 Points! The 2017 Barolo Ravera is a powerhouse. My impression is that the 2017 is going to develop into something truly special. It has all the energy that makes this site so distinctive, but with an extra kick of fruit density and a whole range of exotic aromatics that make for a truly drop dead gorgeous wine. Bright red/purplish fruit, rose petal, chalk and white pepper build into a finish laced with searing intensity. This is such and impressive wine. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More

96 Points! The 2017 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione shows all the signatures of this site, all turned up to the maximum. I am not sure I have ever tasted a Vietti Castiglione with this much heft. Super-ripe dark red fruit, rose petal, mocha, dried herbs and menthol all build in an ample, resonant Barolo. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2017 for the next handful of years, perhaps longer. A whole range of floral and savory notes punctuates the explosive finish. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More

Special Price $59.98 Regular Price $99.98
    Availability:In Stock
96+ Points! The 2017 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is a dense, packed wine. It is also surprisingly, almost shockingly backward. That is probably a good thing for its long-term aging prospects. Readers hoping to get an early glimpse into the 2017 before it shuts down may have a hard time doing that, as today acids and tannin dominate. I expect the 2017 will be stellar in another 4-5 years and drink well to age 25-30 if not longer. Proprietor Giovanni Manetti gave the 2017 18 months in barrique followed by 6 months in cask. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More

  11. Bodega Lanzaga Rioja La Estrada 2017
    JS96
    WA94
Special Price $79.98 Regular Price $104.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The 2017 La Estrada, one of the new single-vineyard bottlings produced since 2014 comes from a northeast-facing 0.64-hectare plot, one of the highest vineyards in the village of Lanciego, at 610 meters in altitude, which helped to avoid the effect of the spring frost of 2017. It fermented in open-top 3,000-liter oak vat and matured in a combination of foudres and barriques for 14 to 16 months. For me, La Estrada and El Velado are in a different quality level than Tabuerniga and Las Beatas. This has a very Rioja character, with a faint rusticity, ripeness and some dusty tannins, but still very fresh for the conditions of the year. 1,932 bottles were filled in May 2019. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More

  12. Bodega Lanzaga Rioja El Velado 2017

    WA93
    $89.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
93 Points! The higher-altitude vineyards like some of the ones used for the 2017 El Velado resisted the spring frost of the year better, and despite being riper, the wine has managed to keep its poise and balance. This comes from a plot at 600 meters altitude planted 80+ years ago. Like the rest, it fermented in open 3,000-liter oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in barriques and foudres for some 15 months. They have kept the Burgundian bottle here because there is more Garnacha. This is a little more straightforward, with less complexity compared with the other single-vineyard bottlings, a lactic touch and a chalky tannins. 1,524 bottles were filled in May 2019. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More

98+ Points! The 2017 Troplong Mondot is stunning, just as it was en primeur. Rich and ample, yet endowed with striking energy as well, the 2017 is the first vintage made by new CEO Aymeric de Gironde and consulting winemaker Thomas Duclos. The 2017 takes hold of all the senses and never lets up. All of the power that is typical of this site is evident, it seems to come so naturally, and yet picking earlier and then using a lighter hand in the cellar yielded a Troplong of uncommon energy and vibrancy. The 2017 has been nothing short of thrilling on the four occasions I have tasted it from bottle so far. What a wine! - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More
