  1. San Felice Brunello di Montalcino Campogiovanni 1997
    WS95
    $99.98
    Availability:Out of Stock

95 Points! Dark ruby, with a garnet hue. Aromas of dark chocolate, currant and blackberry. Flowers. Full-bodied, very soft and silky. Long and beautiful. A gorgeous wine. Complex and very balanced. A wine with a long future ahead of it.--1997 Italian blind retrospective. - Wine Spectator, 2007

  2. Pontet Canet Pauillac 2000
    $179.98
    Availability:Out of Stock

94+ Points! Upgraded in score over my original rating, which was several points lower, Alfred Tesseron has done a remarkable job since 1994 with Pontet-Canet, which has been hitting first-growth levels since 2003. But the 2000 also shows exceptionally well. In need of another decade of cellaring, this dense purple wine has a classic nose of incense, charcoal, creme de cassis, and subtle new oak. Full-bodied, powerful, still very tannic, and shockingly backward, this is a big, rich wine that has put on weight and seems to need more time than I originally predicted. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com, 2010

  3. Pertimali di Livio Sassetti Brunello di Montalcino 1997
    WA96
    $149.98
    Availability:In Stock

96 Points! Readers should note that with the 1997 Brunello di Montalcino, the label has changed to emphasize the proprietor's name, Livio Sassetti, rather than the estate name, Pertimali. Always a top-notch Brunello, the 1997 is staggering in its aromatic fireworks and concentrated, long, intense flavors. Sumptuous aromas of dried Provencal herbs, roasted meats, soy, spice box, asphalt, truffles, and black fruits linger in the air. Flavors of new saddle leather are added to jammy black fruit characteristics. Opulently-textured, full-bodied, and gorgeously pure, this wine creates an olfactory overload. Its low acidity, high glycerin, and huge fruit reserves suggest drinking it now and over the next 12-18 years. Mamma mia! - Robert Parker, robertparker.com, 2002

  4. Peby Faugères Saint Emilion 2000
    WA96
    $149.98
    Availability:Out of Stock

96 Points! The luxury cuvee from Faugeres, the 2000 Peby Faugeres is the real deal. Sadly, only 500+ cases were made of this compelling St.-Emilion. An inky/blue/purple hue is accompanied by aromas of espresso roast, blueberry liqueur, smoke, and graphite. Thick and unctuously-textured with impressive purity and depth as well as full-bodied power and richness, it needs another 2-3 years of cellaring, and should last for two decades. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com. 2010

  5. Pavie Saint Emilion 2000
    WA100
    $599.98
    Availability:In Stock

100 Points! Just beginning to come around and strut its enormous potential, this wine at age 15 has been evolving like a glacier. The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. It should evolve and continue to drink well for at least another 30-40 years. This is clearly the first compelling effort made by the Perse family. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com, 2015

  6. Pape Clément Rouge Pessac-Leognan 2000
    WA96
    $199.98
    Availability:In Stock

96 Points! This wine stands out as a sensational effort just a few years away from full maturity. A 50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine displays loads of scorched earth and smoky barbecue scents along with blueberry, black raspberry and black currant. The wine is expansive, has a savory, broad palate and a full-bodied mouthfeel, yet possesses vivid purity and uplift. The tannins are still present, but they are sweet and well-integrated. This wine should hit full maturity in another year or two and last for at least 20 more years. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com, 2010

  7. La Mission Haut Brion Pessac Leognan 2000
    WA100
    $799.98
    Availability:In Stock

100 Points! One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com, 2012

  8. La Fleur de Bouard Le Plus Lalande de Pomerol 2000
    WA99
    $249.98
    Availability:In Stock

99 Points! A tremendous achievement by Hubert de Bouard, the 2000 La Plus de la Fleur de Bouard (a 420-case luxury cuvee) is a blend of 80% Merlot and the rest primarily Cabernet Franc and a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon. Filled with richness and intensity, with elegance, harmony, and poise, it is one of the top wines of the vintage. Sadly, very little is available. Approachable, with a velvety texture as well as abundant notes of blueberries, coffee, black currants, kirsch, smoke, and licorice, it is a massive, rich (but not heavy) wine that should drink well for another 10-15 years. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com, 2010

  10. Ca'Del Baio Barbaresco Asili 2007
    WA91+
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock

91+ Points! The 2007 Barbaresco Asili speaks eloquently to the silkiness and elegance of this great site. Freshly cut roses and berries of all sorts make a positive first impression. The Asili shows gorgeous freshness and depth in a classic, mid-weight expression of this vineyard. There is a wonderful sense of harmony that flows through to the finish, as the fruit and tannins remain composed and nicely integrated. With time in the glass the Asili closes in on itself. I am not sure it has the warm radiance that is typical of so many wines in this vintage, but it is nevertheless a strong effort. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025. - Antonio Galloni, robertparker.com

  12. Château de Camensac Haut-Médoc 2000
    WS90
    $59.98
    Availability:In Stock

90 Points! This is big and tannic, with loads of concentration. Full-bodied, chewy and impressive. Leave it for a long time. Super price for a cru classé. - Wine Spectator

A sleeper of the vintage, with a characteristic not dissimilar from a good St.-Julien, the medium-bodied 2000 offers up scents of vanilla intermixed with black currant and licorice. With moderately high tannin, excellent depth, purity, and overall harmony, it is certainly capable of considerable longevity. - Robert Parker

Deep purple/ruby. Lovely lush black fruits. Impressive complexity with notes of tar and earth. Well-built, stocky Camensac with tannic slightly austere structure. Not elegant. Robust. Very impressive. Tasted November 2002. - Neal Martin

  13. Gruaud Larose St. Julien 2000
    WA94
    $239.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! A very strong effort for Gruaud Larose, possibly eclipsed by what they have done in 2009, this is a pure, full-bodied Gruaud Larose with plenty of new saddle leather, cedar wood, black currants, cherries, licorice, and Provencal herbs. Spicy, earthy, full-bodied, and rich, it has hit its plateau of full maturity, where it should stay for another 20 or more years. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #189, June 2010

  14. Saint-Nicolas Fronsac 2000
    $19.98
    Availability:In Stock

The 2000 Chateau Saint Nicolas Fronsac is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc from 45-year-old vines, two grape varieties that are well-suited to the excellent terroir of the vineyard. After harvest, the wine is aged in temperature-controlled vats and aged in French oak (40% new) for 14 months. After bottling, this particular wine was aged in the estate’s cold cellars until Kyle and I selected it. The wine is a deep ruby brickish color, with aromas of plum, spice, and cedar. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied and well-structured, with precise flavors of black currants, cherry, and tobacco. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, giving the wine a long and elegant finish that has many years ahead of it.

  18. Noon Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve South Australia 2000
    WA95
    $59.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! The opaque blue/black/purple-colored 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is even more impressive from bottle than it was from barrel. This is a great effort displaying first-growth quality. It boasts a stunningly pure nose of creme de cassis, cedar, licorice, smoke, and vanilla. As it sits in the glass, notions of chocolate also emerge. This full-bodied Cabernet builds incrementally in the mouth. The finish lasts for 45 seconds. A magnificent example, its seamlessness and concentration are profound. This impressive newcomer has not had the time to establish a track record, but I would be shocked if this wine did not evolve for 12-15 years. It should still be drinking well at age 25. - Robert Parker, October 2002 Learn More

    DEC100

    $1,199.98
    Availability:In Stock

100 Points! Violet and iris aromatics curling out of the glass, starting to reach their full expression at 20 years old. Beautifully finessed and elegant, with hints of black truffle, cloves and rich blackberry fruits, this is a vintage that showcases the best of Margaux. It took its time to reach this point but it has been worth the wait, and the wine just gets better and better over a few hours in the glass. Highlights the success of the partnership between owner Corinne Mentzelopoulos and director Paul Pontantallier, with this château delivering some of the most memorable wines of the turn of the century years in Bordeaux. - Jane Anson, Decanter, July 2020

100 Points! Tasted from magnum, the 2000 Château Margaux is a prodigious, flawless wine that shows the elegance and seductive hallmark of the estate paired with incredible density, depth, and richness. Its still-ruby/purple color is followed by sensational notes of crème de cassis, spring flowers, lead pencil, and sandalwood that develop beautifully with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, opulent, and seamless, with a multi-dimensional, layered texture, it has a massive mid-palate, sweet tannins, and a finish that won’t quit. It’s drinking brilliantly today, and there’s certainly no need to delay gratification, but it’s going to continue evolving for another 3-4 decades. Bordeaux (or red wine, for that matter) doesn’t get any better. - Jeb Dunnuck, March 2019
