95 Points! The 2016 Barbaresco is a tight and beautiful wine that will require more time to unwind and soften. This beautifully balanced vintage is characterized by a tight inner core of fruit that underlines the graceful aging capacity of these wines. The 2016 is shaping up to be one destined for long cellar aging. Now in its youth, the wine offers wild berry, rose and licorice aromas. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More

  5. La Spinetta Barbaresco Vigna Bordini 2016
    WA92
    $49.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points! This Barbaresco is of a thicker and darker concentration than the others within this set of new releases, with ripe cherry fruit and dark berries that lift immediately from the glass. But the 2016 Barbaresco Vigneto Bordini is thinner and less consequential in the mouth than I had expected from the appearance. This is a very linear and streamlined approach that could accompany a tenderloin carpaccio with arugula, shaved Parmesan and extra virgin olive oil. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More
  6. Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin 2015
    WS95
    $44.98
    Availability:In Stock
Sweet cherry and strawberry fruit is framed by earth, eucalyptus, tobacco and tar notes in this rich yet firm red. The assertive tannins suggest a glacial evolution but the lasting impression of fruit shows this wine's potential. - Wine Spectator Learn More
  7. Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Pora Riserva 2014
    WA94
    VM94
    $56.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  The 2014 Barbaresco Riserva Pora is a dark, sensual beauty. Deeply spiced and balsamic, with tremendous textural richness, the Pora is utterly beguiling. I can't remember a Pora with this much depth, textural resonance and brooding intensity. The 2014 needs at least a few years to be at its best, but it is superb even in the early going. I won't be surprised if the 2014 turns out to be better than this note suggests.

    VM94
    $56.98

94 Points!  The 2014 Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota is another of the overachievers in this range. White pepper, bright red cherry, floral notes and mint cut through the fruit in this beautifully vivid, crystalline Barbaresco. There is a level of energy, drive and overall nuance in the 2014 I don't recall having seen in the past. The 2014 is a terrific Muncagota.

    VM96
    $399.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points!  The Sorì Tildìn is one of the best wines in this retrospective of Gaja's 1996s. Sweet floral notes, mint and sweet red cherries give the 1996 its distinctive lifted, perfumed personality, qualities that are enhanced by the wine's natural acidity. Fresh, aromatically open and also quite energetic, Sorì Tildìn is distinguished by its detail and nuance. Think of a sketch done in fine pencil.

    VM98

98 Points!  Gaja's 1996 Sorì San Lorenzo is epic. A huge, towering wine, the 1996 Sorì San Lorenzo wraps around the palate with magnificent depth, power and intensity. Smoke, charcoal embers, menthol, licorice, plum, spice and gravel are all pushed forward. Sorì San Lorenzo always yields broad, virile wines. Those qualities marry perfectly with the style of the vintage to produce a vivid, memorable wine of the very highest level. Readers who own or can find the 1996 Sorì San Lorenzo should not hesitate, as it is truly thrilling from the very first taste. Wow!

  15. Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Santo Stefano Riserva 1998
    VM94
    $399.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  The 1998 is the last Barbaresco Santo Stefano Giacosa bottled as a Riserva. For years, the 1998 flew under the radar, likely a victim of a vintage that at the time was considered very good, but not great. Dried cherry, star anise, pomegranate, dried rose petal and deeply spiced notes are some of the signatures. The 1998 is deep, fleshy and quite giving in personality.

  16. Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili 2015
    WS95
    JS95
    WA94
    VM94
    $184.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! In 2013, the father and daughter winemaking team of Bruno and Bruna Giacosa decided not to produce their Barbaresco Asili. They made a Rabajà expression instead. Asili was vinified separately again in 2014 and more recently to create the impressive 2015 Barbaresco Asili. This wine was bottled one year ago in July and has been on the market since February. This expression offers accessible and generous fruit tones, with blackcurrant and dark plum. The wine delivers big inner power with evident tannic firmness and a point of astringency on the finish. All it needs is more time in the bottle. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

  17. Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco 2015
    WS93
    WA93
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  The 2015 vintage opens to a visibly darker color and thicker concentration compared to recent past vintages. Next to the upcoming 2016 and 2017 editions, we can expect 2015 to be the most fruit-forward of the three. You get dark tones of plum and blackberry with dry tannins at the rear. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate #237

  18. Orlando Abrigo Barbaresco Meruzzano 2014
    WA91
    VM93
    $36.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! Abrigo's 2014 Barbaresco Meruzzano is a dark, powerful wine. Black cherry, mocha, bittersweet chocolate, dried flowers, spice and leather notes give the wine its very distinct, brooding personality. This is a decidedly muscular, imposing style of Barbaresco, especially in this part of the region, but all the elements are very nicely balanced. Swaths of huge tannin frame the building finish. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

  19. Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco Montaribaldi 2013
    VM96
    $48.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points!  An addition to the range, the 2013 Barbaresco Montaribaldi is magnificent. Dark spices, lavender, sage, menthol and dark cherries are front and center. Large-scaled, ample and super-expressive, the Montaribaldi captures the power and intensity of this site. Sweet mentholated notes round out the finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. The 2013 spent two full years in cask. It needs time to shed some tannin, but it is fabulous even at this early stage.  Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media, October 2016
