94-95 Points! A subtle yet plush La Lagune with black olives, blackberries and hints of chocolate and hazelnut. Medium body with fine, polished tannins and a savory finish. There's a crunchy feel to it and it’s layered and deep at the end. 65% cabernet sauvignon and 35% merlot. No petit verdot. - James Suckling

92-94 Points! The 2023 La Lagune is a serious wine, but it is also quite backward. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, leather and dried herbs open with some coaxing. The 2023 is going to need time to come together. Its aromatic intensity and overall persistence suggest it has a bright future. Tasted two times. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

95 Points! A red with lots of currant, blackberry, fresh-herb and tobacco character. Hint of mushroom, too. It’s full and layered with polished, chewy tannins and a bright and fresh finish. Very long and focused. Give it time to come together. Very classic character here. Best after 2026. - JamesSuckling.com

93 Points! The 2019 Cantemerle has a fruit-driven bouquet with opulent blackberry and blueberry fruit, certainly one of the most floral in the flight with pressed violets developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins, fleshy and rounded, though I am looking for more tension and precision on the finish. This is a really fabulous Cantemerle that surely represents outstanding value. No excuse not to have this in your cellar. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

95-96 Points! This is long and fresh with a linear feeling to the rich fruit, showing plums, redcurrants and spices, with chocolate and walnuts. Medium to full body. Fine tannins. This is the first year being certified biodynamic from Demeter and furthermore, La Lagune is always excellent in hot years. - James Suckling

94 Points! Fragrant and floral on the nose. Juicy and vibrant, this has a lovely weight and depth on the palate while remaining cool and fresh. Generous mineral hints add to black cherry, plum and raspberry fruit while liquorice, graphite and wet stone give crisp edges with bite. Feels well constructed, not pushed too hard at all, but still offering a generous and appealing wine with mouthwatering acidity and fruit purity. Compact, but beautifully textured. Really just so appealing and inviting. Impressive and good potential. Tasted twice. Harvest 9-26 September. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter.com

93-95 Points! Reminding me, like the 2019, of a modern-day version of the lovely 1990, the 2022 La Lagune bursts with aromas of dark berries, cassis, licorice and violets. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, it's a broad, sensual wine with velvety tannins and a suave, charming profile. With 13.8% alcohol, it remains classically proportioned, with a rather high pH of over 3.8 likely contributing to its open, giving style this year. - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

92-94 Points! The 2022 La Lagune really takes a while to settle in the glass. It eventually sheds its veneer of oak to reveal attractive blackberry, sous-bois and pencil box aromas, and an exotic element loitering just off-stage. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins that lacquer the mouth. Quite dense and muscular, yet it retains definition and plenty of freshness on the finish. It will require bottle age, but it should evolve into a fine La Lagune. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

92-94 Points! Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 La Lagune is a little shy to start off, needing some coaxing to bring out evocative scents of creme de cassis, redcurrant jelly, and kirsch, followed by touches of tar and smoked meats. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with rich, ripe, black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and well-judged freshness, finishing long and earthy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent

92-94 Points! One of the best Haut-Médoc out there, the 2022 Château La Lagune reveals a dense purple hue as well as a classic Médoc bouquet of blackcurrants, leafy herbs, fresh earth, and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a layered, concentrated mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. A stunning wine, it will have 30 years of longevity if properly stored. - Jeb Dunnuck

92-94 Points! The 2022 Larrivaux is gorgeous. Bright and beautifully textured, Larrivaux possesses notable density. In some years, Larrivaux has been a bit light, but the 2022 offers a touch more textural depth, likely the result of low yields (frost and hail lowered production) and the warmth of the year. It will be interesting to see if there is greater ambition at play as well, but that is harder to asses from a single wine. In any event, Larrivaux is superb in 2022. 6. Château de Camensac Haut-Médoc 2000
    WS90
    $59.98
    Availability:In Stock

90 Points! This is big and tannic, with loads of concentration. Full-bodied, chewy and impressive. Leave it for a long time. Super price for a cru classé. - Wine Spectator

A sleeper of the vintage, with a characteristic not dissimilar from a good St.-Julien, the medium-bodied 2000 offers up scents of vanilla intermixed with black currant and licorice. With moderately high tannin, excellent depth, purity, and overall harmony, it is certainly capable of considerable longevity. - Robert Parker

Deep purple/ruby. Lovely lush black fruits. Impressive complexity with notes of tar and earth. Well-built, stocky Camensac with tannic slightly austere structure. Not elegant. Robust. Very impressive. Tasted November 2002. - Neal Martin

91-93 Points! The 2018 Sénéjac has an attractive bouquet of blackberry and raspberry fruits, touches of graphite and pressed flowers. I admire the precision of this Haut-Médoc. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, well-judged new oak (25%) and a touch of dark chocolate toward the finish. This has real panache and class and comes highly recommended. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

91 Points! The 2019 Beaumont, cropped at 50hL/ha, has a lovely, delineated bouquet of blackberry, briary and light tobacco notes. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, and not quite as supple as before, though I appreciate the tangy seaweed note toward the finish. Just what you want from a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

92 Points! This is full and plush for an Haut-Medoc with medium to full body. Lots of blackberries and fresh herbs with redcurrants, too. Chewy, but polished. Give it two or three years to soften. Best after 2024. - JamesSuckling.com
