To all Best Winers,

More mind-blowing Riesling. More insane prices.

The two estates we’re highlighting today need almost no introduction.

The Karthäuserhof Estate is truly unique. From its one-of-a-kind banded label to the fact that all of their fruit comes from one solely-owned estate vineyard, Karthäuserhof is not your typical German winery.

Their Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg vineyard is a true Mosel Grand Cru, as well as one of the most spectacular sites in the valley.

It’s steep. Very steep. I’ve been there, walked the vineyard up and down…and nearly vapor-locked doing so. But man, what a view!

The Karthäuserhof wines are intense, riveting, powerful, minerally, classically-styled Mosel Rieslings. The vineyard achieves excellent ripeness in its unique micro-climate, allowing the winery to produce a bevy of wines on the less-sweet side. Their Kabinett, though lightly fruity, matches up perfectly with a number of cuisines, including cream of white asparagus soup, ham (and more ham), spicy foods. Ok, getting hungry, must…stop…listing…food…now.

The wine is hard to get here in America and, when you can find it, will run in the $30-$40 range. We’re offering what we have at $19.88 a bottle plus 10% off when you mix a case with….

Dönnhoff’s Norheimer Kirschheck Spätlese 2012! That’s right, we have a smoking hot deal on a Riesling from the guy that many consider to be the greatest producer in Germany, hands down. The Kirschheck vineyard, as the name of the wine implies, always seems to pop in a mélange of cherry blossom, stones and citrus, with that uber-friendly, “You love me!”, creamy mouthfeel on the palate before the deceptively powerful acids check in, grab all that fruit, and fire it down the backside of your palate like a cannon. There’s a reason this guy is considered the King.  Last year’s version of this wine grabbed 94 points from Wine Advocate and this one is, uh, way better…

Dönnhoff’s Kirschheck usually rolls a $45 retail but we’re throwing it out there at a Best-in-the-country price of $29.88 plus, today only, you can mix and match a case of these two amazing 2012’s and save an additional 10% (USE CODE TOP2012). Dönnhoff Spätlese at $27? Unheard of…
