Bodega Mustiguillo Mestizaje Blanco 2024

The white 2024 Mestizaje Blanco was produced with a blend of 40% Merseguera, 20% Viognier, 18% Malvasía, 14% Xarello and 8% Macabeo, but it feels like it was made with rocks, because the wine is so stony and mineral and lacks fruit. It really feels like liquid rocks, though it does have some herbal and floral notes. It fermented and matured in stainless steel and concrete with lees. It has 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.41 and 5.44 grams of acidity, coming through as balanced and fresh. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

Alvaro Palacios Priorat Camins del Priorat 2024
$26.98QuickviewJS91RP9191 Points! The bottled 2024 Camins del Priorat is a regional blend produced with a slightly different blend each year, depending on the character of the year. In the less warm 2024, the blend was 40% Garnacha, 20% Cariñena, 20% Syrah (much higher in Syrah), 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot (lower in the Bordeaux varieties), and the rest is a blend of Garnacha Blanca, Picapoll Blanc and Pedro Ximenez from 90 plots in nine villages from Priorat. The idea is to remove the French varieties in 2026. It fermented with part of full clusters and indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, oak and concrete, with 28 days of maceration, and matured in barriques and oak vats for eight months. It has a nose of ripe berry fruit, herbs and spices, with hints of honey and pollen. It develops notes of balsamic and dry hay with time in the glass. This is a little more international; it's the least Priorat of the portfolio. It has 14.1% alcohol, a pH of 3.52 and 5.12 grams of acidity. It's juicy and velvety, with very fine tannins and a sleek texture. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

Lustau Moscatel Superior Emilin Sherry
$26.98Out of StockQuickviewRP92Out of stock92 Points! The NV Moscatel Superior Emilin, produced from Moscatel grapes sourced from Las Cruces vineyard in Chipiona, basically the only place that still grows Moscatel grapes, which has very sandy soil. Legend is that there are some pre-phyloxera vines there... This wine is also quite dark for its age, and has the telltale Moscatel profile of candied orange, honeysuckle and sweet Muscat grapy notes. They do not dehydrate the grapes, they wait and harvest them very late, with some overripeness. With some time it surprises me because it ends up smelling of cola sweets. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

Muga Rioja Reserva 2021
$29.98HURRY, ONLY 6 LEFT!QuickviewJD94WS92JS93VM92RP9494 Points! The grapes for the 2021 Reserva (sold as Crianza in Spain), mostly Tempranillo with some Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano, were picked late in a cooler year when they finished the harvest the 20th of October, with plenty of times for the grapes to develop full aromas and flavors and complete ripeness. It fermented destemmed and lightly crushed in oak vats with indigenous yeasts, separating qualities, villages and soils, and matured in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels, 20% of them new, for 24 months, with racking every eight to nine months. It's a textbook example of their style in a very good year, with power, concentration and clout, elegance and freshness. It was a very harmonious year; the cycle was long and the tannins ripened to perfection. It's terrific... - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com
94 Points! The winery’s flagship, the wine that introduced Muga to the world, the 2021 Muga Reserva is Tempranillo-dominant, with Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano filling in the gaps. A larger-production wine, it offers tremendous quality, fermented in wooden vats using indigenous yeasts, the grapes separated by quality, soil type, and village origin. This one in particular is from a beautiful vintage and practically beams in full-bodied concentration, with supple, silky tannins and light touches of oak spice, cedar, balsamic, and white pepper. A new release, it should continue to thrive another 15-20 years. - Virginie Boone, jebdunnuck.com
