93 Points! The 1998 Solaia is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Not a blockbuster, the 1998 has developed nicely, but also appears to have limited upside potential from here. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media 2013 Learn More

    JS93-94
    WA95
    $64.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! Grattamacco claims the distinction of having planted the first head-trained alberello vineyard in the Bolgheri area, in the 1970s, and its fruit has produced a long line of wines rated 90+. The 2015 Bolgheri Superiore l'Alberello is among the best I have sampled. The wine opens to harmonious notes of smoke and tar and shows elegant mineral definition with sweet oak spice and lots of rich dark fruit at its core. The blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.” - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More

95 Points! The 60/30/10 blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in the 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Magari produces an expressive and opulent red wine, with great acidity and definition. The wine is firm and tightly wound, with secondary complexity that expresses itself in terms of tar, leather and spice. The tannins are supple and soft. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More

    JS96
    WA95+

96 Points! The redcurrant-compote character really pops out here, before dried cranberries, licorice and spice box all come to the fore. 98 Points! It’s the fruit tea and hibiscus that really lifts this, not to mention the roasted herbs that lurk beneath the surface. But there’s no shortage of dried fruit either, whether it be dried cherries, dried plums or Christmas cake. 17. Paolo Scavino Barolo 2015
    JS94
    WA93
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! For a few years running now, this has been one of the Scavino family’s signature bottles. The goal here is to aim higher than your standard “base” or “classico” Barolo. The Paolo Scavino 2015 Barolo is made with a complicated blend of fruit from seven vineyard sites spread clear across the appellation from Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, Serralunga d’Alba and more townships. Each parcel is fermented separately, and some parcels are split into two or more individual fermentations. In order to maintain the highest quality standards, some 10% of the fruit is sold off as bulk, and once the overall selection is whittled down, the best fruit remains in-house. This is a compact and darkly saturated wine with bold blueberry and blackberry fruit. The wine shows a steady center of gravity in this warm, fruit-driven vintage. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More
  18. Basciano Chianti Rufina 2016
    WS91
    JS93
    $11.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
93 Points! Plenty of black-cherry and bitter-chocolate character here and, on the palate, there’s a lovely combination of bright fruit, crisp acidity and well-crafted, moderately dry tannins that give it a long and lively finish. Drink or hold. - JamesSuckling.com Learn More
