  3. Trimbach Riesling Selection de Vieilles Vignes 2015
    JS92
    WA92
    VM92
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points!  Bright straw-yellow. The very floral nose also hints at liquid minerals, minty herbs and marzipan. Then lemony fresh, featuring a peppery, zingy acidity that nicely frames the flavors of ripe orchard fruit, fennel and licorice. Clearly, this is more penetrating and has stronger, more intense flavors than the Riesling Réserve. Not made every year but only in exceptional ones, for “… the key when making this wine is not to impoverish our Riesling Réserve by diverting grapes to yet another wine. In 2015, we could do that without worries,” said the Trimbachs almost in unison. Very classy wine from grapes grown mainly on the marly calcaire soils of the Hagueneau; this will last, but is deceptively easy to drink now.

93 Points! Ripe, juicy yellow pear and honey carry the nose. 90 Points! Good full yellow. The strongly floral nose also hints at smoky bacon and exotic fruits. Then almost austere and straightforward; a very strong saline bent frames the delicate tropical fruit and honeyed flavors. Tactile but also very pure on the long finish. Lovely, lighter-styled Gewürz. - Ian D'Agata, Vinous Media

  13. Hubert Meyer Cremant D'Alsace Rosé
    $19.98
    Availability:In Stock
Cremant d'Alsace is one of France's best-kept secrets.  These classically bottle-fermented sparklers from Alsace, an area known more for its sweeter wines and taller bottles, can throw down some excellent value from the top producers.  The house of Hubert Meyer is one of them! An exciting new find for us, there is some young, energetic winemaking here and it really shows through in wines like this dry, forest strawberry-inflected bubbly, challenging its neighbor to the west in Champagne at about a third the price. 100% Pinot Noir here, handled in the traditional Methode Champenoise...
