90-93 Points! from a .31 ha holding of 60+ year old vines. Moderate wood can be found on the ripe aromas of mostly plum and black currant with background hints of earth and the sauvage. There is again very good volume and solid concentration to the tautly muscular larger-scaled flavors that also coat the palate with dry extract on the youthfully austere, compact and firm finale. - Allen Meadows, Burghound #89

97 Points! A giant amongst the 2021 Grand Cru red Burgundies, but still a sleeping giant. In spite of the stunning concentration on the rather full-bodied palate for the vintage, the stony minerality and bright acidity gives this great drive at the very long finish. 92 Points! Lots of redcurrant fruit, with notes of blood orange, tobacco leaf and sage. Sleek, focused and racy, this is a forthright expression of cool climate Burgundy that some may find a bit challenging, but which excites us. A selection from three older-vine plots in Vosne: ‘Aux Raviolles,’ ‘Au Dessus de la Rivere’ and ‘Aux Ormes,’ with a mix of clay and limestone soils, mostly east-facing. Aromas of blackberry, red cherry, minerals. Juicy and spicy; lots of fresh, red/black fruit. 

Charles Boigelot honed his skills at both Domaine Paul Pillot and neighboring Coche-Dury, following in the footsteps of his father, who did the same (and a good portion of the family’s grapes for years were sold to this historic Meursault estate).

This family has long had its wine-stained fingers on the pulse of the Côte de Beaune. Charles’ great-great-grandfather, with some five acres of land, was the first of the family to plant vines in Monthelie in 1918. From father to son, the family expanded its holdings in Monthelie, Meursault, Volnay and Pommard until Eric Boigelot, in the late 1990s, moved to new cellars to Meursault, just over the village border.

A tribute to the grand terroirs of Monthelie and an overachieving wine crafted with a majority of premier cru fruit. Pinot Noir here comes from three distinct, quality parcels in the village, all bordering Volnay. Premier cru ‘La Meix Bataille’ sits at the top of a plateau, with deeper marly soils; premier cru ‘Sur la Velle’ directly borders Volnay 1er ‘Clos des Chênes.’ ‘La Piece Fitte’ (or Pierrefittes) neighbors both and is higher up on the slope, near the forest line.

‘Clos de la Roche’ is found near the forest line in Dracy-le-
Fort, touching premier cru ‘Champs Lalot,’ at the northern edge of the Givry appellation. Soils here are richer, with limestone and clay, 30+ year-old vines. Aromas of sweet spice, light pepper, red and black fruit. Tangy, concentrated flavors of red cherries and raspberries.

Maybe the finest Village level Savigny we've ever tasted (Leroy aside). This is spicy, textured, complex, silky stuff, like it was dipped in Vosne Romanee...

94-96 Points! Tremblay's 2021 Echézeaux du Dessus Grand Cru is a hauntingly floral, ethereal wine, wafting from the glass with scents of sweet plums and berries mingled with exotic spices, orange zest and vine smoke. Full-bodied, broad and enveloping, it's deep and seamless, with a cool core of fruit, melting tannins and a long, floral finish. - William Kelley, robertparker.com
