From Chateau Margaux: The production of Pavillon Blanc is a centuries-old tradition at Château Margaux, which has been producing white wine since the early 18th century. Over the years, we have become increasingly selective in our pursuit of excellence, conducting extensive analysis and understanding of our various white soil types. This rigorous selection process, coupled with careful vineyard work, allows us to harvest each plot at its optimal maturity, adjusting vinification and aging to the different grapes produced. This meticulous effort has not only enhanced the quality of Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux but has also led to the production of a second wine of such high quality that it will be bottled starting from the 2022 vintage. Composed entirely of Sauvignon Blanc and sourced from historic estate vines, the Pavillon Blanc Second Vin can be enjoyed in its youth and will gracefully age for at least two decades.
