Miyagikyo Peated 2021

Miyagikyo Peated is a limited-edition Japanese single malt released by Nikka in 2021 as part of its Discovery Series. Produced at the Miyagikyo Distillery in Miyagi Prefecture, the whisky explores a more heavily peated side of a distillery typically known for its elegant, fruit-driven style. Bottled at 48% alcohol, it balances expressive smoke with Miyagikyo’s characteristic refinement.

Aromas of fragrant peat smoke, ripe orchard fruit, citrus, and vanilla unfold with subtle herbal notes. The palate is silky and layered with pear, malt, gentle spice, and earthy smoke balanced by fresh fruit sweetness. The finish is long and smoky with lingering citrus, herbs, and soft mineral notes.
