It's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel, and it’s beautifully layered and textured, with integrated acidity and a blockbuster of a finish. Pure gold in white Rhône, I wouldn't push the aging curve here and would drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years, possibly a decade. Don't let that deter you, though. 100 Points! The 2023 Dominus is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. Opaque purple-black in color, it slowly unfurls to reveal a powerful core of blackcurrant jelly, ripe black plums, and fresh blueberries, followed by hints of menthol, crushed rocks, dried sage, black truffles, and black olives. The 2011 Proprietary White Cuvée Blanc is a rare and distinctive wine within the Palazzo portfolio, reflecting Scott Palazzo’s long-standing inspiration from the great white blends of Bordeaux. Crafted in very limited quantities, the wine is built around Sauvignon Blanc, supported by complementary Bordeaux varieties such as Sémillon, selected for their ability to bring texture, balance, and age-worthiness rather than overt aromatic intensity. As with the estate’s red wines, the magnum format was reserved exclusively for Palazzo’s private members and carefully cellared from release. This marks the first time these mature library magnums have been offered to the public, providing a rare opportunity to experience a Napa Valley white designed for graceful evolution.

With more than a decade of bottle age, the wine opens with layered aromatics of preserved citrus, white peach, and subtle floral notes, accented by hints of almond, honey, and gentle spice. Young vines, 100% Primitivo planted between 2016 and 2019 on the high plain of the Murgia in limestone-rich soil, organically cultivated, low yield. Winemaking: wine pressed off shortly after fermentation is complete, so a short 7-10 day maceration; result is aged in stainless steel for about six months, no oak used. 

Fairly dark red-black; aroma of black plums, earth, baking spices, maybe a hint of coffee bean. On the palate, very flavorful and full-bodied, with abundant fruit, modest tannins, and good freshness despite the overall impression of ripeness.

96 Points! This is a vibrant ruby colour, with floral aromatics that are even more evident on the nose here than with the second wine, Blason. This is not always the case during En Primeur tastings, when it's the second wines that tend to be a little more open, but it's a feature of the 2018 vintage. This is a brilliant Issan with richness and poise joined by a delicate acidity that pulls the fruit along. The tannins are deceptive, as they are supple and appealing, but the density and power builds over the palate and clearly indicates long ageing. A wine that feels like it's rooted in its appellation. 50% new oak. 40hl/ha yield, with 53% of production going into this wine, higher than in both 2017 and 2016. - Decanter

Tightly wound and mineral at the moment, with dusty gravel and graphite notes, yet with focus and precision. Such balance and harmony for the vintage. This expression celebrates the true essence of its terroir with a bold and tropical Fijian pot-still character, balanced with the zest and depth of Indonesian column still smoothness, enhanced by unique teak vat ageing. Bottled only at the very peak of maturity, for a bold, fresh, and exotic flavour experience for the sophisticated palate. Slightly dry, with tropical fruit on the nose, leading to a sweet vanilla and baked banana aroma, moving to oak then a darker hint of warm teak finally develops into a rich manuka honey finish.

E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye Whiskey is a Bottled-in-Bond release made from a mash bill of rye and malted barley, with no corn, resulting in a whiskey that showcases rye’s bold, spicy character. Its rich mahogany hue reflects the careful aging process.

On the nose, it offers an inviting mix of toasted oak, rye spice, black pepper, mint, and subtle notes of pear. The palate opens with a burst of rye spice and pepper, balanced by caramel sweetness, fresh mint, and hints of citrus. The whiskey’s oily texture coats the mouth, enhancing the complexity of flavors. 93 Points! Sourced from the Truchard Vineyard in Carneros, this blend of Dijon 1143, Pommard, and 777 was open-vat fermented and aged for 9 months in 30% new French oak. This everyday wine offers elegant, bright red cherry notes and warm brown baking spices, with just a hint of ripe fruit sweetness. The medium-bodied palate is framed by fine, sappy tannins and a nice touch of saline minerality on the finish. It has plenty of grippy acid tension and is thoroughly enjoyable on its own or can carry a meal. - Decanter Magazine

95 Points! The 2019 Blanc is a powerful deep wine. Low yields in the field resulted in a Blanc of unusual concentration and almost phenolic intensity. Citrus confit, marzipan, chamomile, dried herbs and a touch of new oak flesh out. The Blanc emerges from the former La Tour du Moulin Figeac estate, which is just across the road from Cheval Blanc property. 95 Points! A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, the 2019 Le Petit Cheval Blanc is the 10th vintage of this wine. The first vintage of Le Petit Cheval Blanc to be launched was the 2014, but they have been making it since 2009. The wine is aged on full lees for 22 months in new oak foudres. It sashays out with flamboyant notes of apricots, green guava, and lime cordial, with hints of lemongrass, wet slate, and sea spray. 98+ Points! Helms vineyard consists of five acres on gravelly loam, right on the northern edge of the Rutherford bench, planted in 1997 and 1998 to Cabernet Sauvignon clones See and 337. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and was aged for 21 months in French oak barrels, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it rolls out of the glass with seductive scents of Morello cherries, blackcurrant pastilles and mulberries with hints of chocolate mint, violets and forest floor, plus a waft of cinnamon toast. Full-bodied, the palate has an ethereal weight, dancing with bright, vibrant black and blue fruits and a lively line of freshness, textured with beautifully ripe, velvety tannins, finishing long and mineral laced. From the importer: Bush-trained Cannonau (also known as Grenache) from a vineyard called Sas de Melas, at 600 meters (about 2,000 feet) above sea level, near the village of Mamoiada. This altitude is unusual for red wines, and gives the wine uncommon freshness (cooler night-time temperatures at altitude mean higher acidity in the grapes). The vines were planted in 2004 and 2010 in soil based on decomposed granite.

The grapes are picked in late September or early October, de-stemmed and crushed, and fermentation begins using indigenous yeasts only, encouraged by a a ‘pied de cuve'* (Luca believes that cultured yeasts don’t give a wine that truly is representative of place.) The wine is left in contact with the skins for 10-12 days, then pressed off. The wine is aged for about 6 months in stainless steel tanks, lightly fined, then bottled without filtration.

Notes: mid-red, with aromas and flavors of red fruits (wild strawberry particularly), blackberry, and hints of mediterranean herbs. Very good fresh fruit notes on the palate, with the freshness typical of such a high growing site; moderate fine tannins.

Hampden Estate in Jamaica has been producing rum since the 1700s and is regarded as one of the most traditional distilleries in the Caribbean. Known for wild fermentation, the use of copper pot stills, and extended tropical aging, Hampden creates high-ester rums with bold intensity and unmistakable character. The finish is long, fiery, and complex, making this a rum for true enthusiasts or for cocktails that demand serious depth.
