A blend of unusual names, La Rue au Porc and En Boeuf, in English could be looselytranslated as Pork Street and In Beef—wines apparently good with food... La Rue au Porc was planted in 1948 and is composed of deep clay and limestone rock topsoil—the muscle and weight of the wine. En Boeuf is in the Grande Combe, a somewhat narrow valley far to the west of the appellation on the north hill facing south on a steep slope of shallow rocky topsoil all closer to forests and in the direct path of colder winds from the countryside to the west, presenting almost a complete contrast to La Rue au Porc. Planted in 1979, the position of these vines balances the wine with mineral, tension, cut and lift.

Palenqueros 'Valente Garcia' Madrecuishe Mezcal
$87.98HURRY, ONLY 6 LEFT!Palenqueros Madrecuishe was produced in the village of Santa Maria La Pila at 1552 meters above sea level by fourth generation producer Don Valente Garcìa, alongside his grandson Semei, from cultivated Madrecuishe. Cooked in an oven pit and hand crushed with a wooden mallet, the agave is fermented in cypress and pine wood vats using the ambient yeast of the distillery before it is distilled on a 350 liter copper pot still powered by direct fire. Bottled at still strength of 48.9% with no additives.
Palenqueros is a project initiated by La Maison & Velier’s Luca Gargano and involves six producers from the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The initial series of 12 certified mezcals in 2019 was a collaboration project with Tradición Chagoya, which owns and operates other mezcal brands like Donaji and Los Cuerudos. The second series, released in 2024, featured 6 agave distillates and was solely a project of LM&V.
