92 Points! The 2019 Sangiovese Romagna Superiore Thea opens slowly in the glass with an understated mix of sage and dusty dried roses, giving way to nuances of strawberry and mint. This is silky and elegant in feel with mineral-tinged tart wild berries carried by zesty acids, as pretty inner violet tones form toward the close. A coating of fine tannins lingers through the lightly structured finale, but they are sweet and round as vivid raspberry and blood orange notes slowly fade. The Thea is a single-vineyard Sangiovese refined in tonneaux for nine months, 40% new. The 2019 is very attractive, but give it another year or two of cellaring for the best results. Not a rye whisky! With a mashbill of 100% malted barley, Kaiyo The Rye 10 Year Japanese Whisky is a limited-edition item from the Kaiyo Whisky Wood Library Series. It's a maturation of extremely rare Japanese Mizunara oak and ex-Knob Creek rye whiskey barrels, aged for 10 years. The rye casks bring out the sharper notes of black pepper, herbs, and the vanilla of American oak, while the Mizunara lends cardamom, clove, and a delicate floral note.

The second wine of this great château, the 2021 Le Petit Mouton De Mouton Rothschild offers up a mini-Mouton-like nose of pure cassis, graphite, and spicy oak and hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, plenty of fruit and richness, and almost velvety tannins. Based on 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged in 50% new barrels, this textured, focused, impressively concentrated 2021 will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age (which is rare for a second wine) and cruise for 10-15+ years in cold cellars. - Jeb Dunnuck

This beautifully balanced and silky Domprobst Spätlese is full of finesse and reveals a playful, irresistible character with perfectly ripe fruit that is like an idea of fruit rather than material on the palate. Ardnamurchan distillery turned ten in the summer of 2024 and to celebrate this milestone we launched a unique batch of Ardnamurchan 10 Years Old whisky.

This 15,000 bottle batch was made up of 100% first-fill bourbon casks, where roughly half of the batch was subsequently finished, for over one year, in Champagne Paul Lanais barriques.

The spirit is 100% unpeated and bottled at 50% ABV.

Nose: The nose opens with an overtly tropical offering; replete with ripe mangoes, pineapple cubes, lots of honey. There are baked bananas, brown sugar, figs, and wine gums. With time, we go a little deeper into darker tones of crème caramel, toffee, and meringues with white chocolate.

Palate: Oh, hello there, waxiness! The theme of honey continues, backed up by linseed oil, warming spices, gingerbread, fresh pineapple, and cedar. Oily, waxy, showing great depth!
