Vintage knowledge is particularly important in all wines, but nowhere does it matter more than Burgundy. Sandwiched between two very flashy and ‘critically ordained’ vintages (1999 and 2002), the 2001 vintage has been an excellent source for surprising Burgundy gems over the years.
