93+ Points!  Saturated ruby-red. Pure, highly perfumed aromas of black cherry, currant, plum, minerals, tobacco, leather and fresh herbs. Very ripe, suave and spicy; at once subtle and gripping. Lovely cabernet character dominating today. Very firm, long finish is youthful but not hard-edged. Showing extremely well.  - Stephen T ...read more

92 Points!  The 2014 Capbern is bold, ripe and quite juicy. Although not especially subtle, the 2014 possesses striking aromatic nuance, power and intensity. Dried cherry, licorice, herbs, tobacco and mint add attractive aromatic topnotes, but it is the wine’s juiciness that stands out most. This is a strong showing. The 2014 of ...read more

92 - 93 Points!  Love the stone, tar and black currant in this. Full and tight with firm and silky tannins and a long, long finish. Spicy, too. Can’t wait to see how this evolves. Serious.  James Suckling, April 4, 2017

Meyney Saint Estephe 2000
Availability: In Stock
Poor Meyney. It always gets bagged on by the press when its young and folks seldom give it the chance to do what it does best and bloom with about a decade in the cellar.  We tasted this wine along with a bunch of older ‘heavyweight’ classified growth-level wines and good old Meyney turned out, in the end, to be the best wine on the table. At this juncture it is beautifully reminiscent of the top vintages of this wine I’ve consumed, namely the 1985, 1989 and 1995. Forget those early tasting notes, what’s in the bottle is special.

Meyney St. Estephe 1989
WA

Availability: Low Availability
90 Points! The 1989 Meyney is one of the finest Meyneys ever produced. The opaque, black/ruby color, a bouquet of minerals and damson plums, the alcoholic, massive flavors and the mouthcoating tannins all combine to create a sensory overload. The 1989 will prove uncommonly long-lived as well as profoundly flavored. Anticipated maturity: 1995-2 ...read more
