  1. Leo Steen Cabernet Franc Santa Cruz Mountains Ascona Vineyard 2017
    VM93
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The 2017 Cabernet Franc Ascona Vineyard is one of the most distinctive wines in Leo Steen's range. Powerful and explosive, it packs a real punch in its dark fruit, sage, tobacco, espresso and licorice flavors. The 2017 is a dark, imposing wine, and yet it also has quite a bit of varietal character. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More

95 Points! Love the aromas of licorice, lavender and rosemary flowers. Medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a fresh and focused finish. Shows beautiful tannin management and finesse. Drink in 2020. - JamesSuckling.com Learn More
  3. Raul Perez Bierzo La Vizcaina La Vitoriana 2016
    WA96
    $33.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points!  The vines at La Vitoriana are from a north-facing part of the vineyard and are extremely old, and the grapes show their best between 13% and 13.5% alcohol. The maceration of the 2016 La Vizcaína La Vitoriana is the longest of all wines from La Vizcaína wines, and it always has very strong balsamic notes. It's subtle and elegant with a velvety texture, with lots of energy and inner strength. Pérez selects about half of the vineyard, and he feels 2016 is the year that best represents the character of the place. I'd add it's probably the best vintage so far. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  5. Descendientes de J. Palacios Petalos Bierzo 2017
    WA93
    $17.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
93 Points!  2017 was a very unusual year in Bierzo, and here they started harvesting the 21st of August, when they had never started harvesting in August. There are more white grapes in the 2017 Pétalos del Bierzo, almost 10%, not because they wanted to lower the alcohol, because the alcohol was similar to 2016, but because the white grapes achieved perfect ripeness (Ricardo Pérez Palacios told me he's never seen such beautiful white grapes). The wine had been bottled the day before I tasted it, so they also showed me a tank and a barrel sample they had saved for the purpose of comparison. However, the bottled wine, the first produced at their new facilities, was really singing and didn't show any fatigue. The palate was vibrant, with acid strawberry flavors. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  6. Audebert Bourgueil Rosé 2018
    $16.98
    Availability:In Stock
I love it when a Rosé conveys the true varietal character of the grape and Audebert is one of the masters at making Cabernet Franc Rosé from the Loire Valley that actually tastes like both Cabernet Franc AND Rosé.  Fantastic stuff!

93 Points!  The 2016 Carbone is flat-out gorgeous. Pliant, succulent and inviting, the 2016 has so much to offer. Blackberry jam, grilled herbs, mocha and espresso are front and center in Favia's entry-level red. Supple fruit and silky tannins add to the wine's considerable finesse. In a word: terrific.

  8. Dominio De Bibei Ribeira Sacra Lalama 2013
    WA93
    $24.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
93 Points!  A champion in quality-to-price ratio, the red 2013 Lalama wants to replicate the traditional wine produced as a field blend that is mostly Mencía with some 10% a myriad other varieties—Brancellao, Mouratón, Sousón and Garnacha Tintorera—from many different vineyards on different soils, altitudes and expositions. The destemmed and crushed grapes fermented in 2,500-, 3,500 and 4,500-liter oak vats with indigenous yeasts followed by malolactic in 300-liter barriques where it was kept for 13 months followed by a further seven months in oak vat. It has an explosive and captivating nose, an explosion of wild berries and herbs, with just a creamy touch and some spices. It's redolent of acid berries, with an electric-like sensation in the palate revealing great freshness, focused flavors, very fine tannins and a clean, long and refreshing finish. This is plain delicious, the best Lalama I remember...This combines quality, price and availability from a region where wines tend to be produced in small quantities. It's approachable and ready but should be long lived. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  9. M & S Bouchet Cabernet Franc Le Sylphe 2016
    $21.98
    Availability:In Stock
Soulful, brimming with fruit, palate-hugging, not reticent, on point, again balanced. There's less of an emphasis on the tobacco and aggressively tannic or 'angry' aspects of Cabernet Franc and more an emphasis on the joyful side of the grape, enhanced by the natural concentration to be found in this Loire Valley estate's biodynamically-farmed 60+ year-old vines. 10. Raul Perez Bierzo La Vizcaina El Rapolao 2016
    WA95
    $31.98
    Availability:In Stock
95+ Points!  The cool and elegant character of the El Rapolao plot seems to have been amplified by the weather conditions in the 2016 La Vizcaína El Rapolao. Pérez does not own all the vineyards, so sourcing can sometimes vary within the same vineyard, and since 2016 it comes from two old plots where the Mencía is mixed with other varieties; the wine seems to have gained in depth and complexity as a result. In 2016 he did a slightly shorter maceration and matured the wine in 500-liter oak barrels for a little over 12 months. The vineyard yields well, and the wine is always expressive, balanced and elegant. It seems like slightly higher yields suit it better, and the wines have good tension and an herbal twist that adds to the complexity and freshness. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  11. Raul Perez Bierzo Ultreia St. Jacques 2017
    DEC93
    WA93
    $17.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  The clean, floral and 2017 Ultreia Saint Jacques comes mostly from old vineyards from different soils in Valtuille and Villadecanes fermented in stainless steel and oak vats with part of full clusters and matured in used barriques for one year. It's produced in a fresh and very drinkable way. This is one of the best values from Bierzo and Spain, and a great introduction to Bierzo. It's a more serious wine than what the wine was when it was first produced, fresh and elegant. It's very reliable and a great value. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  15. Arietta Red H Block Hudson Vineyard Napa Valley 2015
    JD94
    JS95
    VM95
    $149.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points!  Arietta's 2015 H Block Hudson Vineyards, 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Merlot co-fermented, is another gorgeous wine from Arietta in this vintage. Resonant, open-knit and seductive, the 2015 has much to offer. I would prefer to give the 2015 at least a few years in bottle to allow the aromatics to open up a bit more. Even so, the 2015 is pretty special today.

  16. Jonata El Alma de Jonata 2015
    JD98
    $149.98
    Availability:In Stock
98+ Points!  Showing awesome aromatics, as well as an incredible depth on the palate, the 2015 El Alma de Jonata (74% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot) reveals an inky purple color as well as killer notes of blackcurrant, spring flowers, dark chocolate, bay leaf and licorice. Possessing full-bodied richness, gorgeous purity of fruit, lots of chalky tannin, and a great finish, this is easily a candidate for the finest Cabernet Franc made in America. It needs 4-5 years of cellaring and will keep for two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck
