  1. Perez Barquero Gran Barquero Amontillado Sherry
    WA95
    $25.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! The NV Amontillado Gran Barquero is an impressive 25-30 years old. It wears a dark amber robe and a subtle, elegant and focused nose. It’s an Amontillado of finesse, with biological, salty notes and roasted almonds, close to the Fino character. The palate shows a medium-bodied wine of a velvety texture, fine acidity and clean, focused flavors, It represents superb value for the quality it delivers. Drink 2013-2019. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  2. Vall Llach Priorat Porrera 2014
    WS93
    WA93
    $56.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
93 Points! The village red 2014 Porrera is mostly Cariñena with 23% Garnacha from old vines on very steep slate slopes. It fermented in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels and small stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts and with daily pigéage for some 19 days. It matured for 14 months, with the Cariñena in 225- and 300-liter oak barrels and the Garnacha in 1,500-liter oak vats and clay amphorae. It feels like the juice from the old Cariñena tolerated the oak quite well, and the wine showed better balance and freshness than most of its siblings. It's quite extracted but showed more acidity, which compensated it so that it felt more balanced, in its own XL way. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  3. Sacristia AB Manzanilla Primera Saca 2017
    $29.98
    Availability:In Stock
Importer notes: When Antonio Barbadillo left the family winery in 2008 to pursue his vision of making a classic style of complex, aged Manzanilla, everyone thought he was loco. But Antonio, along with his wife and four sons, knew that unfiltered, aged wines were the noble investment of Sanlúcar and he wanted to push the limits of what people envisioned of this mysterious, fragile and beloved biologically aged wine. Previously, Manzanilla Sacristía AB was sourced from 32 butts within an 80-butt solera at Bodegas Sanchez Ayala (where the Manzanillas of Equipo Navazos’ La Bota got their fame), the largest independent bottler of sherry. Sacristía is bottled in miniscule sacas, usually two a year and always completely en rama to ensure a maximum and pure expression of flor development and aromatics. As of the Primera Saca of 2014, this base wine has been sourced from sleeping Manzanilla treasures that lie beneath a thick layer of flor in Bodegas Yusta, a dusty old cellar in the backroads of Sanlúcar. In search of the perfect balance for the Sacristia style he has in mind, Antonio tastes wines from a variety of top producers from the most important Pagos and multiple criaderas before selecting his favorites for each bottling. 4. Ritme Celler Priorat (Carignan) 2015
    $19.98
    Availability:In Stock
Helmed by the energetic, free-wheeling Albert Jané,  Ritme (Catalan for ‘rhythm’) Celler is based in La Vilella Alta, just north of Gratallops. The vineyards are steep and soils are mostly of the decomposed slate known locally as llicorella. The core holdings are 35- to 80-year-old bush vines of Garnatxa and Carignan (with a particular emphasis on Carignan—also known locally as Samsó or Carinyena) sprinkled with Garnatxa Blanca, Macabeu, and a few other varieties. These are planted in poor, rocky soil and tended and harvested by hand at extremely low yields for an intense natural concentration of flavor without heaviness. In short, Jané espouses a minimalist philosophy of respect for old vines, indigenous varieties, manual labor, and sensitive cellar handling.

  5. Osborne Sibarita Oloroso 30 Years VORS Sherry 500ml
    WS93
    WA94
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The NV Sibarita Oloroso VORS is produced with Palomino grapes, balanced with 2% of Pedro Ximenez, something quite common to polish the edges of very old wines, in a solera created in 1792. It has a dark mahogany color, and the nose shows some toffee notes intermixed with roasted coffee, tar, ash and incense. The palate shows good depth, strong acidity, well compensated by the sweetness, and a slightly bitter finish. It stands apart from other Olorosos, with a unique range of aromas and flavors. 1,500 bottles are filled each year. Drink 2013-2020 - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  6. Osborne Amontillado 51-1A 30 years VORS Sherry 500ml
    WS93
    WA95
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! The NV Amontillado 51-1A VORS, from a solera created in 1830 has a bright amber color. Intensely aromatic, with a nose full of balsamic notes (rosemary, thyme) intermixed with some smoke, spices, noble woods and hazelnuts. The intense, complex and complete palate shows great elegance and finesse, with a bitter orange and saline finish that makes it very tasty. Extremely long. Only 600 bottles are filled each year. This bottle would last, age and improve, probably for many years. Drink 2013-2020. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  7. Bodegas Tradicion Palo Cortado VORS 30 Years
    WA94
    $119.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  The NV Palo Cortado Tradicion VORS, averages 32 years of age, which they consider the correct age for Palo Cortado, so it is not just an old Sherry. Light amber-colored, the nose has a sweet sensation, apricots, and almonds but then the mouth is very dry and saline, fine and light, with flavors of hazelnut, a little varnish, very elegant, intense, pungent, a little spirity. It has a delineated palate, superb intensity, and very long finish. Classical, elegant, clean, intense and delicate could be common deors for all their wines. A textbook Palo Cortado. Drink 2013-2019.  Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com #208, August 2013

    WS92
    WA96
    VM92
    $23.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points!  A mind-blowing sherry is the non-vintage Palo Cortado Peninsula Solera Reserva. Like all Lustau sherries except for the East India, it is made from the Palomino varietal. A dry, crisp, full-throttle, intense sherry offering incredibly complex, nutty aromas, it represents a style that falls between the Amontillado and the more oxidized, heavier Oloroso. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #202

  12. Equipo Navazos La Bota de Palo Cortado Lot 47 375ml
    WA99
Special Price $119.98 Regular Price $150.00
    Availability:In Stock
99 Points!  Another wine that but for the Amontillado 49 would be a candidate for a perfect score, the NV La Bota de Palo Cortado Bota NO 47 is an extremely old Palo Cortado most probably from a good vineyard within the Pago Miraflores in Sanlúcar and made at a time when the musts were fermented in barrel. This wine is now around 80 years old, and comes from a solera that used to belong to Gaspar Florido. The 22% alcohol is the result of sheer concentration. This is one single cask, marked as NO (kept for the owners). The color is a bright mahogany, with a green border, denoting extreme age and a nose with some gunpowder, tar and mineral reduction. The palate combines the extreme intensity of the 49 and the balance and approachable character of the 51 along with piercing acidity and flavors. It is ultra-concentrated and has an incredibly long finish; a beast of a wine. You feel the sharpness of a razor going down your throat, with concentrated sea water, salty, mineral finish. This has real energy and power, only shadowed because the number 49 exists, and also a step closer to being an Amontillado. Bottled in December 2013 into 1,200 half bottles.  Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com #216, December 2014
