Winery notes: 100% Garnacha. Hand harvested from very old vineyards planted by the traditional system from single vineyards “Monte Alto”and “La Sarda”. 2. Familia Nin-Ortiz Priorat Nit de Nin La Coma d’en Romeu 2016
    JD94
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
The 2016 Nit De Nin La Coma D'En Romeu is another perfumed red from this estate, yet it takes the exotic level up a notch. Wild strawberries, pomegranate, blood orange, and crush violet notes all define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and layered on the palate. While it’s a beautiful wine, it has a certain wildness that makes me think it’s best enjoyed over the coming 7-8 years. This cuvée is all Garnacha from a higher elevation vineyard and spent 17 months in once-used 600-liter barrels. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More

  5. Comando G La Bruja De Rozas Garnacha 2016
    WA93
    $23.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  The first wine to be released from what is surely their finest vintage to date was the 2016 La Bruja de Rozas, a blend from different plots in the village of Las Rozas de Puerto Real in the province of Madrid. I first had it at a restaurant and was simply blown away and ran to buy a few cases for my cellar. This is ethereal, weightless but powerful, intense, transparent, with beautiful aromatics and a silky texture, with the grainy minerality of the granite soils. It's long, pure, available and affordable. It has to be one of the best value wines found in Spain today. Drinkable, in fact, gulpable today, but with the potential to develop in bottle. Bravo, bravo and bravo! - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  6. Terroir Al Limit Priorat Arbossar 2014
    JS92
    WA94
Special Price $59.98 Regular Price $90.00
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The 2014 Arbossar is old-vine Cariñena from a north-facing slope (coster), fermented with natural yeast and matured in an oak foudre from Stockinger until bottling in June 2016. This is always a lighter colored, perfumed Cariñena, with the freshness of a north exposure, which in the warmer 2014 feels a little riper and certainly with a lot more tannins than the 2013. The idea for this wine is to ferment it and age it in cement, and remove the oak totally; this will happen from the 2015 vintage. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  7. Cooperativa Cristo del Humilladero Garnacha Granitos de Cadalso 2017
    WA90
    $13.98
    Availability:In Stock
90-91 Points!  This is a joint venture between the cooperative of Cadalso de los Vidrios Cooperative and Comando G. 2016 was a cool and balanced year that provided ideal ripeness. The wine fermented in concrete vats were it was kept for some seven months until bottling. This is the private bottling for European Cellars, a US importer, but a similar wine might be offered under other names. As I was anticipating, this 2016 was even more impressive than 2015. This is a true Gredos wine with incredible aromatics, granite, altitude and Garnacha, a spice market in Marrakesh! The palate is as impressive as the nose, with focused, clean flavors, tension and the textured structure provided by the granite. More elegant and even deeper than the 2015, it's super tasty and long. This was the final blend waiting to be bottled in a couple of weeks, but the final wine should be pretty similar to what I tasted. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  8. Mas Doix Priorat Les Crestes 2016
    WA92
    $21.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points! Grapes from younger vines are used for the 2016 Les Crestes, which is also released earlier. It's a blend of Garnacha with 20% Cariñena and 10% Syrah matured in second use French oak barrels for eight months. 2016 was a dry growing season saved by a cooler September with some rain, which resulted in a relaxed and long harvest of grapes with good ripeness and acidity. It's young, tender and aromatic, a gentle Priorat with a juicy palate and a fresh personality. Really attractive and pleasant. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
  9. Altovinum Evodia Garnacha Old Vines 2017
    JD91
    $8.98
    Availability:In Stock
91 Points!  Another project between Eric Solomon and the Roussillon’s Jean-Marc Lafage, the 2017 Evodia comes from higher elevation vineyards and is mostly Garnacha (there’s 5% Syrah) aged in a mix of tank and demi-muids. This deep ruby/purple colored is a gorgeous, naked expression of Grenache that just knocks it out of the park. Blackberries, blueberries, pepper, licorice and hints of asphalt all emerge from this plump, sexy, opulent, and shockingly concentrated wine that has incredible charm and character. It’s the best 10-dollar bottle of wine I've tasted in years. - Jeb Dunnuck

  10. Jimenez Landi Las Uvas de la Ira Mentrida 2014
    JS92
    WA92
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points! The 2014 Las Uvas de la Ira wants to showcase the typicity of the village of El Real de San Vicente. The wine is a little reduced and it clearly benefit from being in contact with air, so decanting in advance is recommended, as right now once opened there are strong aromas of struck match. I tasted one bottle that was popped and poured, and another one that had been decanted for some 12 hours, and the differences were noticeable. It has red berry fruit and something citric and aromas and a sensation akin to berry kernels and wet stones. The palate is vivacious, with fine tannins, a lively texture that show energy and a minerality that might remind of chalk. The village has granite soils at some 750 meters altitude. There is very good freshness in this 2014, with nice balance of fruit. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  11. Jimenez Landi Las Iruelas El Teimblo Castilla y Leon 2014
    JS95
    WA96
    $74.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points!  The single-vineyard Garnacha 2014 Las Iruelas was produced with grapes from a 1.5-hectare plot of old vines in the village of El Tiemblo in the province of Ávila within the geographical zone of the Gredos Mountains at some 1,000 meters altitude. This is always a perfumed, open, showy, heady and aromatic wine. The palate is super elegant, with very fine tannins and also dusty, with some herbal notes that add freshness. This is always an ethereal wine, with great freshness, fluid and long, certainly lifted by the subdued minerality. 964 bottles were filled in June 2016. Not all the grapes from the vineyard are used for the wine, and there was a severe selection because they got some hail. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate #231

91 Points!  A wine that over-delivers in just about every vintage, the 2016 Tres Picos is always 100% Garnacha from red/iron-laced soils, destemmed and brought up in French oak barrels. Raspberries, spice, dried flowers and potpourri notes all emerge from this juicy, front end-loaded, absolutely delicious red that has a touch of vanilla, medium to full-bodied richness, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 2-4 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

  13. Clos i Terrasses Priorat Clos Erasmus 2014
    WA97
    $169.98
    Availability:In Stock
97 Points! There is a little more Syrah in the blend of the 2014 Clos Erasmus, where it reached around 30% to complement the majority of Garnacha. As is the norm, the wine matured for some 18 months before bottling, with most of the volume in French oak barrels, 40% of which are renewed each vintage, but there are also one or two amphorae. I tasted it next to the 2013 and as the 2013 required so much attention, it took some time to get to the 2014. It showed a bit shy at first, but when I finally came back to it, I found that it had really blossomed with a mixture of violets, ground, smoky meat and black raspberries. The slight increase in Syrah was noticeable, but it somehow also seemed to increase the voice of the slate in the bottle...This is simply terrific. 3,000 bottles were filled at the end of May 2016. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate #227

  14. Orto Vins Montsant Pallel 2011
    WA92
Special Price $59.98 Regular Price $90.00
    Availability:In Stock
The translucent 2011 Palell, the Garnacha Peluda from a vineyards planted in 1950 on a steep slope shows bright cherry fruit, balsamic aromas and comes through as quite fresh for a very ripe and warm year. The palate shows good precision and focused flavors, with moderate acidity and some spiciness from the oak in the finish. It should get better in bottle. Sadly there are only 875 bottles of the wine. - Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com #219
