  1. San Vicente Rioja 2015
    WA94+
    VM94
    $49.98
    Availability:In Stock
94+ Points! The 2015 San Vicente was produced with 18 hectares of Tempranillo Peludo, a particular strain of Tempranillo planted from a massal selection in 1985 in the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The destemmed grapes fermented in French oak vats, and the wine matured in new oak barrels (90% French, 10% American) for 20 months. This really reminds me of the initial vintages of this wine, 1991 and 1994, but with the wisdom of the older vines, it feels very integrated and compact, in line with the 2005. It's a serious and balanced wine that's harmonious and has incipient complexity, with aromatic herbs and spices and a mixture of red and black fruit. It's elegant and medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins, good grip and a remarkable finish. This has oak, but it feels quite integrated. It has the stuffing and balance to develop nicely in bottle. 2015 is behaving much better than expected. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More

  4. Cune Rioja Imperial Gran Reserva 2010 Magnum 1.5L
    VM94
    $159.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! Vivid ruby-red. Smoky oak-accented red berries, cherry pit, incense and mocha aromas show outstanding clarity and vivacity. Sweet, expansive, palate-staining raspberry, cherry pie, vanilla and floral pastille flavors fan out steadily on the back half. The smoky note reemerges on an impressively long, floral- and spice-driven finish that's given shape by supple, harmonious tannins. In the context of world-class Spanish wines, which this one is, there's truly outstanding value here. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media Learn More

    WE93
    DEC96
    WA94
Special Price $49.98 Regular Price $89.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
96 Points! Dalmau comes from the Canajas vineyard, which has a high concentration of limestone. The sweet, savoury, red-fruited Tempranillo core is underpinned by the grassiness and tannic structure of 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Graciano. - Decanter Magazine Learn More
  6. Roda Rioja Reserva 2015
    JS94
    WA93
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The 2015 Roda is a blend with more Garnacha, up to 8% (from 3% in 2014), and the Graciano epresents 6%, which complements the 86% Tempranillo. All of these wines ferment with indigenous yeasts, and this 2015 matured in French oak barrels for 14 months, 40% of the barrels new and the rest second use. It has great balance and a juicy palate, with fine tannins and a pleasant mouthfeel. A very good Roda. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
  7. Celler Cal Pla Black Slate Porrera 2016
    JD94
    $16.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The 2016 Black Slate Porrera comes from a project of importer Eric Solomon focusing on the specific villages in the Priorat. The 2016 is 60% Grenache and 40% Carignan that was mostly destemmed and spent a full year in used barrels. Thrilling blue fruits, tar, rose petals, and a smoky, marine, iodine-like character all emerge from this full-bodied effort that opens up nicely with time in the glass. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it picks up more minerality with time in the glass, has beautiful balance, and great purity of fruit. It would be hard to find a better value. Drink bottles over the coming 3-5 years. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More
  8. Pago de Carraovejas Ribera del Duero Reserva 2014
    WE94
    JD97
    $64.98
    Availability:In Stock
97 Points! A magical wine, the 2014 Reserva from winemaker Almudena Calvo is largely Tempranillo blend with 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot, all aged in French oak for a year. Deep and powerful, with beautiful concentration, it’s nevertheless incredibly elegant and seamless on the palate, and shows terrific complexity in its blackcurrants, graphite, white flowers, and vanilla bean aromas and flavors. A wine of great intensity as well as purity, it builds with time in the glass and has a fabulous finish that won’t quit. It’s not for those craving lightweight aromas and flavors, but it’s a thrilling wine. Drink it any time over the coming 10-15 years. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More
  9. Familia Nin-Ortiz Priorat Nit de Nin La Coma d’en Romeu 2016
    JD94
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
The 2016 Nit De Nin La Coma D'En Romeu is another perfumed red from this estate, yet it takes the exotic level up a notch. Wild strawberries, pomegranate, blood orange, and crush violet notes all define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and layered on the palate. While it’s a beautiful wine, it has a certain wildness that makes me think it’s best enjoyed over the coming 7-8 years. This cuvée is all Garnacha from a higher elevation vineyard and spent 17 months in once-used 600-liter barrels. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More
  10. Artadi Rioja Valdegines 2016
    JS97
    WA94
    $51.98
    Availability:In Stock

94 Points! The 2016 Valdeginés comes from an organically farmed vineyard planted 35 to 40 years ago at 600 meters in altitude in the village of Laguardia. From an east-facing plot of five hectares opposite La Poza de Ballesteros, the vines are younger here (from the early 1980s), and they get the morning sun. In a cooler year, like this 2016, the grapes ripened quite slowly. The Valdeginés fermented with indigenous yeasts in open-top wooden vats after a 24- to 48-hour cold soak and then matured in barrel until malolactic was completed, yet there is no trace of oak (the élevage was shortened to nine months in barrel), instead it's floral and vibrant in the palate. This is always the first single-vineyard wine offered for tasting, and it tends to be their prettiest wine; in 2016 it was really captivating, very clean, fresh and open from the first minute after being poured in the glass. 2016 seems to be a very transparent vintage, and this is a great example of it. Superb! 13,000 bottles produced. Drink: 2019-2026. - Luis Gutierrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

  12. Casa Castillo Jumilla Las Gravas 2015
    WA94
    $26.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  The 2015 Las Gravas is a classic Mediterranean blend of Monastrell with 15% each Garnacha and Syrah, with 15% alcohol after fermenting with part of full clusters and indigenous grapes and aging in used oak barrels for 19 months. 2015 is the last vintage that Las Gravas has some Syrah, as it adds some sweet fruit he wants to avoid. However, it shows fresh within the balsamic profile, with plenty of rosemary and thyme notes combined with floral undertones and the character of the esparto grass and tree bark that are textbook deors of the variety. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  13. Torre de Ona Rioja Reserva Finca Martelo 2014
    WA94
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  The 2014 Martelo is produced with the grapes from their oldest vines, mostly Tempranillo, put through a cold soak after alcoholic fermentation then in barrique for a slow malolactic fermentation of 96 days. This was followed by an élevage in 80% American and 20% French oak barrels for two years, during which time it was racked four times. It has incredible aromatics with surprising notes of beef blood, iron and meat with tons of fruit, as Martelo is the vineyard where they find more fruit. This is a very elegant, aromatic and fine Rioja (they decided to bottle it in a Burgundy bottle) and it's not a coincidence, because that is what they are looking for. The palate follows the same path of finesse, balance and freshness. A very impressive Rioja. Bravo! - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  14. Terroir Al Limit Priorat Arbossar 2014
    JS92
    WA94
Special Price $59.98 Regular Price $90.00
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The 2014 Arbossar is old-vine Cariñena from a north-facing slope (coster), fermented with natural yeast and matured in an oak foudre from Stockinger until bottling in June 2016. This is always a lighter colored, perfumed Cariñena, with the freshness of a north exposure, which in the warmer 2014 feels a little riper and certainly with a lot more tannins than the 2013. The idea for this wine is to ferment it and age it in cement, and remove the oak totally; this will happen from the 2015 vintage. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  15. Hacienda Monasterio Ribera del Duero 2015
    JD95
    WA94
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! Made with guidance from Peter Sisseck, the 2015 Crianza from Hacienda Monasterio is a blockbuster effort that’s a blend of 75% Tinto Fino, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Merlot, all of which spent 18 months in 30% new French oak. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by terrific notes of blueberries, violets, graphite, and crushed rocks. Full-bodied, deep, concentrated, and elegant, with a traditional style and building tannin, it’s incredible that they produce upward of 30,000 cases of this beauty. It’s no doubt beautiful today yet will keep for a decade or more. Even at $50, it’s a smoking value! - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com

  16. Palacio de Fefinanes Albarino Rias Baixas 2017
    JD94
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  One of the top whites in this report is the 2017 Albariño from Palacio de Fefinanes, which is 100% varietal and sees no oak, being brought up all in stainless steel. Vivid notes of lime, citrus, crushed rocks, and an almost Riesling-like petrol character all soar from the glass. Medium-bodied, seamless, and incredibly elegant on the palate, it has remarkable purity of fruit and flawless balance, and while it’s not as concentrated as the more expensive 1583 cuvée, I like the balance and purity here more. This is one to seek out, and it should keep for 2-4 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

  17. Vega Sicilia Ribera del Duero Valbuena 5o 2013
    WS92
    WA94
    $149.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! Cropped from an unusually cold and rainy vintage in which they will not bottle Único, the 2013 Valbuena is always released in its fifth year. It's mostly Tempranillo with 5% Merlot that was put through a three- to four-day cold soak in the oak vats where it fermented with indigenous yeasts and was pumped over. It matured in new and used 225-liter French and American oak barriques and also in 20,000-liter oak vats, where the larger vessels respect the fruit, especially in a more fragile vintage like 2013. It's a very elegant and fresh Valbuena with a developed nose, quite classical with a fine texture, elegant tannins and a supple, long finish where the oak is still quite obvious. I liked it very much and consider it a triumph over the challenges of the year. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  18. Olivier Riviere Rioja Ganko 2015
    WA94
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock
94+ Points!  The nose of the 2015 Ganko is always spectacular. The soils are very shallow red, rich in iron and are layered with sandstone and gypsum; Olivier Rivière considers these to be the best soils he has. There are notes of beef blood and iron, with seriousness and austerity, and at the same time, a wild side to it. The palate follows a similar path of seriousness and minerality, with a stony, dry sensation in the palate, a texture, not a flavor, and a dry, tasty and long finish. This is simply phenomenal. It's a blend of 50% Mazuelo and 50% Garnacha. Starting with 2016, this wine will be aged exclusively in foudres. 4,000 bottles were filled in May 2017. - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate #235

  19. Vega Sicilia Alion Ribera Del Duero 2013
    JS94
    WA94
    $74.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
94 Points! The careful selection of the grapes and the work directives even for the purchased grapes has clearly paid off in the 2013 Alión, which has great freshness and perfume. It was cropped from a relatively normal growing season, but with a cold September with some rains that provoked a slight delay in the picking and especially the seed for a severe sorting of the grapes. It's considered a challenging vintage in general, and the bottles produced are slightly less than in the healthier 2012. It's always pure Tempranillo from over 30-year-old vines in different villages: Pesquera, Padilla, Moradillo... It fermented in oak vats with indigenous yeasts after a three-day cold soak, followed by malolactic and 12-14 months in new French barriques. It might be a lighter vintage for Alión, but one that has a subtler profile and harmony. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, with a thread of acidity going through its core and lifting it up. An elegant Alión.  - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

  20. Osborne Sibarita Oloroso 30 Years VORS Sherry 500ml
    WS93
    WA94
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The NV Sibarita Oloroso VORS is produced with Palomino grapes, balanced with 2% of Pedro Ximenez, something quite common to polish the edges of very old wines, in a solera created in 1792. It has a dark mahogany color, and the nose shows some toffee notes intermixed with roasted coffee, tar, ash and incense. The palate shows good depth, strong acidity, well compensated by the sweetness, and a slightly bitter finish. It stands apart from other Olorosos, with a unique range of aromas and flavors. 1,500 bottles are filled each year. Drink 2013-2020 - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate
