  1. G.D. Vajra Langhe Freisa Kyè 2015
    VM92+
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
92+ Points! The 2015 Langhe Freisa Kyé is incredibly finessed. Once huge and bombastic, the Kyé has developed into a much more refined wine in recent vintages. The 2015 Kyé is dark and mysterious, not to mention quite closed in on itself. I won’t be surprised if there is more to this wine. Time will tell. - Antonio Galloni, Viknous Media Learn More
  2. G.D. Vajra Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2016

93 Points! Smooth and opulent, this red exudes mulberry, black currant, violet and iron aromas and flavors. Balanced and concentrated, ending with a cascade of ripe fruit. Shows fine purity and tension. Drink now through 2024. - Wine Spectator Learn More
  3. G.D. Vajra Dolcetto d'Alba Coste e Fossati 2017
    VM93
    $26.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The 2017 Dolcetto d'Alba Coste & Fossati is a wine of extraordinary and arresting beauty. Intense and yet also remarkably delineated, the Coste & Fossati is a terrific example of the heights Dolcetto can reach in skilled hands. Readers will find a gorgeous, beautifully layered wine endowed with tremendous energy and focus. Dark plum, graphite, smoke, menthol and licorice all build in this super-expressive and nuanced wine from Vajra. I loved it. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media Learn More
  4. E. Pira & Figli Chiara Boschis Barbera D'Alba Superiore 2016
    WS91
    WA91
    $29.98
    Availability:In Stock
91 Points!  The 2016 Barbera d'Alba Superiore starts off with subtle and careful intensity. But as it takes on greater momentum in the glass, you begin to recognize dark fruit, etched mineral and black olive. The finish is polished and crisp. This Barbera reveals significant depth and lasting persistence. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate.

  5. Elio Grasso Nebbiolo Langhe Gavarini 2017
    WA90
    $19.98
    Availability:In Stock
90 Points! The Grasso family was forced to farm very carefully in the scorching hot 2017 vintage. Leaves were left on the vines to provide shade for the clusters, and grasses between the vineyard rows were not cut in order to isolate the soils below. The 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo Gavarini sees fruit sourced from the youngest vines in the prized Rüncot site. Declassified grapes from that important cru are directed to this wine instead. This is a structured and richly textured Langhe Nebbiolo with dusty mineral sensations on the close. Gianluca Grasso is particularly proud of the hard work dedicated to this excellent value wine. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More
  6. Elio Grasso Barbera d'Alba Vigna Martina 2016
    WA93
    $27.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The Barbera grape can often act like Nebbiolo showing its best results in the later vintages that end on a cool note. Those conditions are what define the beautiful 2016 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Martina. The wine sees 20 days of maceration with submerged cap, and the bouquet is flowing, polished and impactful as a result. Blackberry, summer cherry and plum rise from the glass. Some 18 months of oak aging adds delicate touches of spice, leather and cedar. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More
  7. Giacomo Borgogno Dolcetto d'Alba 2015

  9. Giacomo Grimaldi Barbera d'Alba Pistin 2017
    $19.98
    Availability:In Stock
You need to be pistìn, or fussy, to make a good Barbera, grandpa Ernesto used to say. Ferruccio Grimaldi has taken this on board to create this territorial, fresh, clean, polished, genuine Barbera. This splendid offering comes from great terroir in Monforte and Novello in Barolo. Learn More
  10. Brovia Barbera D'Alba Sori Del Drago 2016
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock
This Barbera is produced from grapes harvested in the “Garblet” vineyard (also known as “Fiasco”) of Castiglione Falletto from a 0.8 hectare plot on a south-southeast facing slope at 250 meters altitude. The major part of the vineyard was planted in 1970 with a portion being replanted in 1993. The “Sori del Drago” is fermented at 28 degrees Celsius for slightly more than a week. The wine is then racked into stainless steel tank and is aged for 15 to 18 months before being bottled (unfiltered). Learn More
  11. Giuseppe Mascarello Barbera D'Alba Scudetto 2015
    WA92
    $37.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points! Since the 2014 vintage, this wine is no longer labeled as Superiore. The 2015 Barbera d'Alba Scudetto had just been bottled when I tasted my sample, but the sheer richness and exuberance of the fruit was nevertheless on full display. Barbera performed very nicely in this warm vintage, delivering opulent and generous black fruit aromas. This Barbera is rich in volume and texture as well. This wine, along with the Langhe Freisa Toetto and Langhe Nebbiolo, was released in late May 2018. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

  12. Elio Grasso Dolcetto d'Alba Dei Grassi 2017
    $16.98
    Availability:In Stock
Gianluca Grasso tells me he became as strict as an Italian police man, a Carabinieri, when it came to leaf pulling in 2017. Vines needed as much shade as they could get in this scorching hot vintage, so he did not allow for any leaves to be thinned. Fruit for the 2017 Dolcetto d'Alba dei Grassi matured rigorously in the shade during the whole summer season. For Gianluca, this was the key to maintaining fruity intensity and freshness in this difficult vintage. Indeed, this wine is void of the jammy sensations of fruit confit and marmalade that you might expect given the record heat. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com

    VM90
    $21.98
    Availability:In Stock
90 Points! Cigliuti's 2015 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Serraboella is very pretty. Inviting, pliant, with soft contours and lovely overall depth, the 2015 will drink well upon release. This is a relatively mid-weight, restrained style for the vintage. Sweet floral notes add perfume through to the finish. I would prefer to drink the 2015 over the next few years. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

  16. Giovanni Manzone Dolcetto d'Alba Le Ciliegie 2016
    $14.98
    Availability:In Stock

The 2016 Dolcetto d'Alba Le Ciliegie takes its cue from its name: "ciliegie" are cherries in Italian. That is indeed the main aromatic component of this easy-drinking wine. Cherry liqueur or candied cherries lead to darker tones of prune and plum. Pair this wine with crispy fried chicken. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com
