  1. Kruger-Rumpf Riesling Spatlese Munsterer Dautenpflanzer 2015
    WA93
    $21.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  The 2015 Münsterer Dautenpflänzer Riesling Spätlese does not contain any botrytis like in former years when it was rather a downgraded Auslese than a Spätlese. Georg Rumpf has started to vinify more clear and elegant Spätlesen with no botrytis at all, except of the Scharlachberg (where up to 5% is accepted). Bright and clear in color, this Riesling displays a lovely, clear and refined bouquet with flinty, herbal and ripe white fruit aromas. On the palate this is a sweet but also lush, piquant and salty, very well-structured Spätlese. It has a nice grip and positive bitterness resulting from the 5-6 hours of maceration time. You can enjoy it already today, but it will be gorgeous in 5-10 and even in 15 years.  Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate #228, December 2016

  2. Markus Molitor Riesling Auslese *** Wehlener Sonnenuhr Weisse Kapsel 2015
    WA99
    $99.98
    Availability:In Stock
99+ Points!  Pure and flinty, with perfectly ripe stone fruit aromas that are seamlessly intertwined with the flavors of crushing stones, the 2015 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese *** (White Capsule) is powerful, rich and incredibly juicy on the palate but, at the same time, pure, finessed and crystalline. This is a highly complex and salty, endlessly juicy and stony Riesling of great precision and salinity. The finish is long and stimulatingly salty, very rich and powerful and still marked by its yeasty texture. Fermented and aged in 3,100-liter barrel from Stockinger. Bottled in September.  Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate #230, April 2017

  3. Monchhof Riesling Spatlese Urzig Wurzgarten 2015
    WA91
    $27.98
    Availability:In Stock
91 Points! The 2015 Ürzig Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese is clear, deep and discreet on the nose, with ripe, concentrated fruit and beautiful flinty and herbal aromas. The wine is light, lush and round on the palate, enormously elegant and provided with highly delicate "salts" and "minerals." The finish is aromatic, beautifully balanced and extremely stimulating. This is a gorgeous Spätlese from one of the Mosel's most fascinating vineyards. Bottled with 8% alcohol and 77 grams of residual sugar, it tastes medium-sweet rather than anything else. - Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate #230

  4. Clemens Busch Riesling Kabinett Pundericher 2015
    VM91
    $19.98
    Availability:In Stock
91 Points!  At only 7.5 percent alcohol, it goes without saying that this bottling is prominently sweet, though that sweetness doesn’t come off as syrupy. On the contrary, there is a delightfully bright fresh juiciness of lime and white currant, while the sweetness is appropriate to a simultaneous, harmoniously integrated expression of candied and confitured citrus and berry, as well as to a hint of quince jelly that is allied with glycerol slick. The finish is gushingly intense and lusciously juicy although entirely fruit-dominated and to that extent not enormously complex. But I would not be surprised to witness some interesting counterpoint emerging with bottle age. (There is no corresponding generic Busch Kabinett this year.)

  5. Muller-Catoir Riesling Haardt Pfalz 2015
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock

Infectiously juicy and transparent to nuances that eluded its generic counterpart, this bottling features apple and fresh lime with a hint of mango, pungently resinous green herbal and smoked meat notes serving for invigoration and savor on a polished palate, en route to a slightly austere and stone-lined but at the same time animating and refreshing finish.

    WA93

93 Points!  Very clear in color, on the nose the 2013 Erdener Treppchen Spätlese Herzlay Gold Capsule offers white fruit, brazil nut and red slate aromas in a very delicate, pure and refreshing way. Lush, but very precise and lean on the palate, this is a complex and elegant Spätlese with finesse and a nice terroir expression as well as a great aging potential. Very long and lingeringly piquant and salty.  Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate #217

  7. Trossen Riesling Spatlese Vom Berg 2014
Special Price $29.98 Regular Price $42.98
    Availability:In Stock
Trossen's biodynamically-farmed vines lie in the less-than-famous Kinheimer Kindel, and are easily identifiable on the hill because they are the ‘green’ ones (cover crop and all that).  We have criticized a number of 2014s for not having enough ‘drive’.  Clearly Trossen didn’t get that memo because this one’s got the power. This is a riveting spatlese showing violet, white currant, peach, stones and apple among other things.  Tightly wound, it unveils more as it sits in the glass.  Sneaky layers of fruit, deceptive power and persistent drive through the palate, this is a complete effort with spatlese sweetness perfectly cut with fresh acidity.  It’s a must for Riesling fans and a great ambassador for traditional German Riesling.

    WA93
Special Price $27.98 Regular Price $44.98
    Availability:Out of Stock

How did we score a deal on one of Germany's pre-eminent producers of world-class Riesling? easy, there ain't a lot of it...

93+ Points!  The bright yellow, greenish shimmering 2013 Felseneck Riesling Spätlese opens as a serious wine with cool, fresh, spicy/smoky slate, quartzite and herbal aromas on the nose that indicate a deep and mineral as well as full-bodied and complex Riesling. The palate is impressively juicy and pure at the same time and the finish piquant and salty. Still young this Spätlese just suggests its true class and complexity which shines through in a long, piquant and grippy finish. - Stephan Reinhardt, RobertParker.com

90 Points! Bright fruit flavors with orange peel aromas opens the 2014 Dorsheim Goldloch Riesling Kabinett. This is a light and very racy Riesling with a great piquancy and enormous juiciness. This wine was fermented in Stückfass, but it is, nevertheless, a rather very reductive style. - Stephan Reinhardt, eRobertParker.com #223

Fine, beautifully fragrant, almost floral Pinot aromas emerge from the glass of the 2011 Brauneberger Klostergarten Pinot Noir **, quoting wild strawberries, redcurrant and caramel intertwined with subtle slate and most delicate, smoky flavors. Full-bodied, intense and powerful, but also elegant and balanced, this sweet and ripe Pinot has a remarkable finesse and freshness leading to a persistent finish of great delicacy and aging potential. 11. Schloss Schonborn Riesling Spatlese Pfaffenberger 2004
    WE95
    $35.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! Tasted with over a decade of bottle aging, this late-release Spätlese is a heart-stopper. The core of this delicately honeyed wine is still vibrantly fruity, concentrated in luscious yellow peach and cherry flavors. Intonations of maturity show in glimpses of creamy cashew, dried mushroom and crushed rock that extend from nose to finish. It should maintain its spry, electric feel from now through 2021 at least. - Wine Enthusiast Learn More
