- Besson Givry 1er Cru Le Petit Pretan 2015$29.98Availability:Out of StockFrom a tinier plot of 0.60 ha next door to 'Les Grands Pretan', also with an average age of 30 years. Located at the beginning of the slope, the similar clay-limestone soils contain more iron here, as well as more stones. The fruit here goes a touch darker, with hints of mulberry sneaking in, reminding me of something from the Mortet family (hmmm, also in Gevrey). The wine has an ever-so-slightly deeper middle though not quite as high-toned as the Grands Pretans. It is structured, with deep, perfectly ripe tannins. Long, and like the Grands Pretans, gets the salivary glands going. Love it!
- Joblot Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2015$39.98Availability:In Stock89 - 91 Points! As the scores and commentaries suggest, Joblot has once again turned in remarkable quality...A discreet touch of wood can be found here as well though it's sufficiently subtle to easily allow the fresh and ripe mix of red berries, spice, earth and floral elements to shine. The ripeness carries over to the velvety, rich and once again utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that deliver excellent length on the firm, serious and less rustic finish. Worth considering. - Allen Meadows, Burghound, October 8, 2016Learn More
- Joblot Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2012BH90$44.98Availability:Out of Stock90-92 points! An elegant, pure and well-layered nose features notes of plum, black cherry, violets and pungent earth. There is a really lovely mouth feel to the attractively intense and equally pure medium weight flavors that also possess good phenolic maturity before culminating in a balanced and persistent finish. As it usually is, this is a wine of finesse. - Allen Meadows, Burghound #52Learn More
