96 Points! A vineyard selection from old vines, the 2015 Malbec Argentino is all Malbec sourced from the Angelica Vineyard (Lunlunta District) and Nicasia Vineyard (Altamira District) and aged two years in new French oak barrels. This uber-sexy, opulent 2015 offers a rock star bouquet of blueberries, blackcurrants, smoked earth, chocolate, and tobacco leaf, with an almost Graves-like minerality and earthiness that develops with time in the glass. Ripe, full-bodied, and plush on the palate, it nevertheless has density and depth, with notable tannins, moderate acidity, and a great finish. It’s a brilliant wine from this beautiful estate to drink over the coming 10-15 years. - Jeb Dunnuck. jebdunnuck.com Learn More

  5. Zuccardi Malbec Poligonos Tupungato (Gualtallary) 2016
    JS94
    WA94
    $26.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! There is a big jump in quality in the 2016 Polígonos Gualtallary compared with the 2015, as they realized that the grapes there ripen earlier than in Altamira, even though the vineyards are much higher (Gualtallary is at 1,350 meters in altitude compared to Altamira at 1,100), which does not follow any (known) logic. They also separated the harvest by soil, which has increased the levels of precision and freshness. This is the most mineral and austere of the three Malbec Polígonos from 2016. Amazing value too! - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

91 Points! Bright, full ruby. Pungent, varietally accurate aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice convey a lightly medicinal aspect. Concentrated, chewy and rich, with black fruit and chocolate flavors nicely framed and intensified by integrated acidity. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins and excellent length. I like this--and it's a lot of wine for the price. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

90 Points! The 2016 Malbec Remolinos Vineyard is a big, ripe, opulent effort that, like the 2015, is a terrific value. Blueberries, jammy black raspberries, ground pepper, and underbrush all give way to a ripe, full-bodied Malbec that has terrific purity and balance. It’s a sexy fruit bomb to drink over the coming 4-5 years. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More
  14. Trapiche Malbec Finca Ambrosia Mendoza 2013
    JS95
    WA96
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
96 Points! As it tends to happen, the 2013 Terroir Series Malbec Finca Ambrosía is my favorite from the series. It has all the flowers, wild herbs and austere minerality from the high-altitude place in a cool year. It's both delicate and powerful—a combination rare to find. This is a textbook example of the variety, place and vintage. Bravo! - Luis Gutierrez, The Wine Advocate Issue #237

95 Points! This is a very linear and refined with a purity of fruit and stone character. Full body, and intense. Plenty of fruit but in a focused and serious way. Needs at least two to three years of bottle age. - James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

  15. Zorzal Wines Eggo Tinto de Tiza 2014
    DEC96
    WA94
    $23.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The 2014 Eggo Tinto de Tiza is a blend from three different vineyards in Tupungato Winelands in Gualtallary. It's a blend of mostly Malbec with some Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. As is the case with the whole Eggo range, the wine didn't see any oak, and in this case it was matured in egg-shaped cement vats for one year. There are violets, plums, dark cherries and something earthy. This is slightly riper than the 2013. The medium-bodied palate has is fresh with a silky texture, pure flavors and a mineral-driven finish. At this price I'd buy it by the case. Super! - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate #220

  18. Tintonegro Malbec Finca La Escuela 2012
    WA94
    $44.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points! The 2012 Malbec Finca La Escuela is one of five Malbecs from the Finca La Escuela vineyard within the newly-delimited Paraje Altamira appellation. The other four are limited cuvées from different soils (one barrel of each, so an academical/educational wine of 300 bottles). The vineyard was planted in 1996 by Alejandro Sejanovich with three different Malbec massale selections from old vineyards. The nose is incredibly fresh and subtle with perfect ripeness and unnoticeable oak that is perfectly folded into the fruit and showing in the shape of faint spices. The palate is medium-bodied, but feels light, with great freshness and refined tannins that have a subtle, harmonious minerality and a supple, almost salty finish. This is a superb expression of Altamira, precise and clean. 2,700 bottles produced. - Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com #220

  19. Superuco Calcareo Granito de Tupungato 2013
    WA95
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points! The 2013 Calcáreo Granito de Tupungato starts with lactic notes followed by ripe plum and ripe skin aromas from grapes grown at higher altitude, closer to the sun. It is a bit wild. The palate is tremendously mineral, with a chalky texture and incredible length. The tannins are ultra-fine and the wine is compact, very harmonious. This is the more austere and mineral of the three. Awesome value! Some 3,000 bottles produced. - Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com

  20. Superuco Calcareo Rio de los Chacayes 2013
    WA93
    VM91
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  The 2013 Calcareo Rio de los Chacayes is sourced from the Chacayes zone of Tunuyan on top of Vista Flores towards the mountains. It has a riper, spicier, floral, and aromatic profile with notes of thyme and rosemary. It is the most extroverted of the three, and also feels quite polished. The palate, however, is more serious, with the austerity of the rocks, a very fine thread of subtle acidity and a long, long, long finish with sweeter tannins. Its a rolling stone covered in chalk and surrounded by thyme. Awesome! 3,000 bottles were produced.  Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com #220, August 2015
