93 Points! One of the best expressions of this variety outside of Italy must be the 2017 Barbera Cervo from Charles Smith. Its vibrant purple/ruby color is followed by a fresh, complex bouquet of blue and black fruits, leafy herbs, vanilla, and spice. It’s terrific on the palate as well, offering medium to full body, tons of fruit, and remarkable purity. Drink it any time over the coming 4-5 years. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More

  6. Elio Grasso Barbera d'Alba Vigna Martina 2016
    WA93
    $27.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The Barbera grape can often act like Nebbiolo showing its best results in the later vintages that end on a cool note. Those conditions are what define the beautiful 2016 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Martina. The wine sees 20 days of maceration with submerged cap, and the bouquet is flowing, polished and impactful as a result. Blackberry, summer cherry and plum rise from the glass. Some 18 months of oak aging adds delicate touches of spice, leather and cedar. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com Learn More

91 Points! Bright, full ruby. Pungent, varietally accurate aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice convey a lightly medicinal aspect. Concentrated, chewy and rich, with black fruit and chocolate flavors nicely framed and intensified by integrated acidity. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins and excellent length. I like this--and it's a lot of wine for the price. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

95 Points! Aromas of ripe black-skinned berry, clove and ground pepper mingle with fragrant blue flowers and a whiff of toast. Concentrated and savory, the full-bodied palate doles out blackberry jam, mature Marasca cherry and exotic spices. Velvety tannins lend finesse, while fresh acidity keeps it light on its feet. - Wine Enthusiast Learn More
  11. De Martino Limavida Old Vine Malbec 2011
    JS92
    WA93
    VM92
Special Price $34.98 Regular Price $48.00
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The 2011 Single Vineyard Limavida is produced with the fruit from a 2.3-hectare, un-grafted, dry-farmed, old vineyard from Maule planted back in 1945 with mixed varieties, mainly Malbec (around 80%) and other red grapes, mainly Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon on granitic soils. It displays a bright ruby color with strong aromas of flowers (the telltale violets that the best Malbec really masters) and notes of aniseed, red fruit, licorice, smoked hints and the tension and acidity from the old vines with fine-grained tannins. With time in the glass, it develops a beautiful orange peel note that makes it appealing and fresh. A serious red from Maule. Delicious! - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate # 213

  12. Casa Smith Barbera Cervo Wahluke Slope 2014
    WA93
    $17.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
93 Points!  On another level, and worth the uptick in price, the 250-case 2014 Barbera Cervo (from vines planted in 1997 and tiny, tiny yields) was brought up all in barrique and is easily the finest example of this variety I’ve tasted from Washington. Elegant, layered and concentrated, with a serious feel in its black cherry, lavender, underbrush and peppery herbs bouquet, this terrific effort is a real head-turner that readers should seek out! The Casa Smith brand is reserved for the Italian themed wines from Charles Smith.  Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate #225

  13. Superuco Calcareo Rio de los Chacayes 2013
    WA93
    VM91
    $34.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  The 2013 Calcareo Rio de los Chacayes is sourced from the Chacayes zone of Tunuyan on top of Vista Flores towards the mountains. It has a riper, spicier, floral, and aromatic profile with notes of thyme and rosemary. It is the most extroverted of the three, and also feels quite polished. The palate, however, is more serious, with the austerity of the rocks, a very fine thread of subtle acidity and a long, long, long finish with sweeter tannins. Its a rolling stone covered in chalk and surrounded by thyme. Awesome! 3,000 bottles were produced.  Luis Gutierrez, eRobertParker.com #220, August 2015
