Charles Gardet founded Champagne Gardet in 1895, having decided to get out of the 'shopkeeping' business. It worked. His son Georges found himself moving into a Belle Epoque residence in Chigny-les-Roses a generation later! The house style straddles the line between 'modern' and classic', a touch of wood finding its way into the top cuvees. The Gardet Brut Reserve is a classic Champenois blend of 2/3 Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and 1/3 Chardonnay, of which 25% of the base wine has been aged in wood. Dosage is about 5 g/L.
