  1. Familia Nin-Ortiz Priorat Planetes de Nin 2013
    WA93+
    VM92
    $39.98
    Availability:In Stock
93+ Points! The 2013 Planetes de Nin is mostly Garnacha with some 35% Cariñena from a vineyard in Porrera that names the wine. The Cariñena was harvested at the end of August, and the Garnacha after the 20th of September. The wine matured in 2,850-liter oak foudres and 3,200-liter amphorae for some 16 months. I first tasted it one month after bottling and it was very closed because of the operation. I had the feeling that it was a superb vintage and wanted to give the wines a chance, so I waited until now to give it time to rest and breathe. Well, that reductive character has disappeared. Furthermore, they think they have found the cause for that reductive character in the wine--there was a deficiency in the soil of the Garnacha that they have fixed with a natural compost and the results are good. Anyway, back to the wine, this 2103 is superb indeed. The wine has also gained in depth and feels more Porrera, more austere. In this vintage they started with some full clusters (which in 2014 was increased to 100%) and the result shows in a "sensation" of freshness rather than in analytical data. The palate shows incredibly fine and elegant, refined with sleek tannins. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com Learn More
  2. Kaesler Shiraz Barossa Valley Old Vine 2013
    WA91
Special Price $19.98 Regular Price $49.98
    Availability:In Stock
91 Points! Very deep garnet-purple in color, the 2013 Shiraz Old Vine has notes of fertile earth, charcoal and yeast extract over the blackcurrant and black plum core with a hint of licorice. Powerful, concentrated and full-bodied on the palate, it offers shedloads of muscular fruit with a solid backbone of rounded tannins and a good long finish. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, robertparker.com Learn More
  3. Masi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Costasera 2013
    WE93
    $44.98

93 Points! This opens with aromas of black-skinned fruit, underbrush, tobacco and culinary spice. The full-bodied velvety palate doles out prune, soaked cherry, star anise and mocha wrapped up in polished tannins. - Wine Enthusiast Learn More
  4. Terlato Chapoutier L-Block Shiraz Pyrenees 2013
    WS93
    JD95+
    WA92
Special Price $24.98 Regular Price $60.00
    Availability:In Stock
95+ Points! From a hot, compressed vintage, the 2013 Shiraz L-Block is concentrated, backward, and closed, yet certainly has incredible potential. Blackcurrant and blackberry-like fruits, smoked earth, crushed rocks, sage, and pepper all emerge from this Hermitage look-alike. Deep, full-bodied, rich, and beautifully concentrated on the palate, with high, yet ripe tannin and a stacked mid-palate, it’s sensational effort that will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com Learn More

    Special Price $299.98
    Availability:In Stock

98+ Points! The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Family Reserve has a dense, opaque, black/purple color, enormous extract and massive fruit, full-bodied power and stunning purity and depth. Readers are often too young to remember what some of the great classics of the late 1960s and 1970s tasted like, particularly the Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignons of 1968-1974. Well, I bought those wines, and tasting these Meteor Vineyard wines reminded me of their super-richness and almost overwhelming extract and power. This is another great achievement, but a real connoisseur's wine in that it's going to take 8-10 years to come around and last 30-40 years, if not longer. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com

  6. Dauvissat-Camus Chablis 1er Cru La Forest 2013
    VM93
    $99.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! Bright, pale yellow. Less fruity and exotic than the Montée de Tonnerre, hinting at oyster shell on the nose. Sappy, chewy and concentrated but quite dry; distinctly more stony and mineral than the Montée de Tonnerre and every bit as long. This struck me as like a mini-Clos. An outstanding and ageworthy 2013 but it's not especially austere today. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media Learn More

  8. Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso 2013
    WA95
    $69.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points!  Although this wine is not labeled as a riserva, it is released six years after the harvest as if it were one. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso opens to balanced fragrances that mix fruity elements with spice, crushed stone and smoke. This wine is linear and direct with firm tannic support at the back. Give it another few years to flesh out further with additional bottle aging. - Monica Larner, robertparker.com

  9. Gaja Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino 2013
    VM92
    $79.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points!  Full ruby-red. Aromas of red cherry, blackberry, licorice and minerals. Juicy and tightly wound but pliant, offering smooth black and red fruit flavors complicated by licorice and fresh herbs. Classically dry and long, finishing with supple but firm tannins and a bright floral element. It’s hard to argue with this entry-level Brunello’s quality. I find it to be slightly underrated in many vintages, as all the attention is focused on Gaja’s two top Brunellos, the Rennina and the Sugarille. But this non-cru Brunello offers lots of high-quality wine for the price.

  10. Dominio De Bibei Ribeira Sacra Lalama 2013
    WA93
    $24.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  A champion in quality-to-price ratio, the red 2013 Lalama wants to replicate the traditional wine produced as a field blend that is mostly Mencía with some 10% a myriad other varieties—Brancellao, Mouratón, Sousón and Garnacha Tintorera—from many different vineyards on different soils, altitudes and expositions. The destemmed and crushed grapes fermented in 2,500-, 3,500 and 4,500-liter oak vats with indigenous yeasts followed by malolactic in 300-liter barriques where it was kept for 13 months followed by a further seven months in oak vat. It has an explosive and captivating nose, an explosion of wild berries and herbs, with just a creamy touch and some spices. It's redolent of acid berries, with an electric-like sensation in the palate revealing great freshness, focused flavors, very fine tannins and a clean, long and refreshing finish. This is plain delicious, the best Lalama I remember...This combines quality, price and availability from a region where wines tend to be produced in small quantities. It's approachable and ready but should be long lived. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

  11. Pax Cellars Syrah Sonoma Coast Griffin's Lair 2013
    VM95
    $54.98
    Availability:In Stock
95 Points!  The 2013 Syrah Griffins Lair Vineyard is another utterly compelling, vivid wine. Dark red plum, pomegranate, blood orange exotic spices infuse the mid palate, followed by wilder, gamier notes that develop over time. A blast of ripe red cherry, smoke, game and cured meats puts an exclamation point on this striking Syrah from Pax Wine Cellars. Precise and nuanced, but with tons of intensity, the Griffin's Lair is a total knock-out. Don't miss it.

  15. Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 2013
    WE95
    JS96
    VM97
    $74.98
    Availability:In Stock
97 Points!  Luminous red. High-pitched aromas of sour red cherry, raspberry, rose, stainless steel, white pepper and minerals. Dense and silky in texture but displays great juiciness, clarity and floral lift; the lively but harmonious acidity really lifts and frames the bright red and mineral flavors. Totally saturates the palate and yet comes off as virtually weightless. This hauntingly beautiful wine showcases everything Brunello can be when made from an ultra-competent producer farming Sangiovese vines that grow in what is a real grand cru section of the much too large Brunello di Montalcino denomination. - Ian D'Agata, Vinous Media
