  1. Domaine de l'Ile Margaux Bordeaux Mer de Garonne 2000
    $29.98
    Availability:Out of Stock

So, when was the last time you had a wine from an island in Bordeaux? Probably never as neither had we. But what is great about this wine is not just the novelty of it (though that is pretty intriguing), but what’s in the bottle. The fact that this comes from an island off the banks of Margaux simply adds to the coolness of the ‘story’, but the key element is that this is a perfectly aged, delicious Bordeaux from the benchmark 2000 vintage with almost two decades of bottle age for under $30.

  5. Iron Horse Brut Russian Cuvee 2013
    WA90
    $31.98
    Availability:In Stock
90 Points! The 2013 Russian Cuvee gives up notes of lemongrass, lime leaves and grapefruit with hints of honeyed toast and chalk dust. Vibrantly fruited in the mouth with plenty of citrus and toast suggestions on offer and a racy acid line, it finishes on a honey-nut note. - Lisa Perrott-Brown, Wine Advocate

  6. Charles Noellat Santenay Clos Genet 2000
    $24.98
    Availability:Out of Stock
This bottling is a certainly showing the best that 2000 has to offer, deceptively fresh, round on the palate, perhaps more engaging in texture than the more brooding 1996 we offered previous.  Here, the deeper red cherry fruit shines, the wine tastes younger and more transparent, though there's less of the forest floor characters and less obvious tannin, those nuances having been replaced with a silkier, more fruit-forward mid-palate. Generous, still young, this wine is a true snapshot of the ease yet deceptive longevity of the best 2000's, a simply ridiculous wine for the money at nearly 20 years of age.

  7. Pontet Canet Pauillac 2000
    WA94
    $124.98
    Availability:In Stock
94+ Points!  Upgraded in score over my original rating, which was several points lower, Alfred Tesseron has done a remarkable job since 1994 with Pontet-Canet, which has been hitting first-growth levels since 2003. But the 2000 also shows exceptionally well. In need of another decade of cellaring, this dense purple wine has a classic nose of incense, charcoal, creme de cassis, and subtle new oak. Full-bodied, powerful, still very tannic, and shockingly backward, this is a big, rich wine that has put on weight and seems to need more time than I originally predicted. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #189

  8. Palmer Margaux 2000
    WA94
    $389.98
    Availability:In Stock
94 Points!  Tasted at the Château Palmer vertical in London, the 2000 Château Palmer was closed for a number of years, but it appears to be finally opening. Deep in colour, there remains a slight broodiness on the nose, although it loses its inhibitions and develops potent blackberry, strawberry and mint aromas, perhaps just a smudge of camphor. It is unashamedly rich on the entry: intense and vibrant with layers of black cherry and cassis fruit pierced by a fine line of acidity. This millennial tightens everything up towards the, finish whereupon it reverts to something much more classic in style, long and tensile. It does not quite occupy the same class as the 2005 or the imperial 2010, but it certainly has long-term potential. My advice? Give it another 4-5 years in the cellar. Tasted May 2015. - Neal Martin, robertparker.com

  9. Du Tertre Margaux 2000
    WA92
    $98.98
    Availability:In Stock
92 Points!  Tasted blind at Bordeaux Index’s 2000 tasting in London. An open-knit, more leathery nose than its peers, touches of mulberry, dried orange peel, graphite and even a tang of marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, masculine and dense, real backbone again here, a wine in for the long-haul. Blackberry, allspice, hoi sin and a touch of white pepper towards the long but bashful finish. This needs another 5-6 years but it is finally realizing the promise it showed in barrel Drink 2015-2030. Tasted March 2010. - Neal Martin, robertparker.com

  10. Fieuzal Pessac Leognan 2000
    WA90
    $74.98
    Availability:In Stock
90 Points!  Aromas of lead pencil, tobacco leaf, licorice, and creme de cassis are offered in an outstanding, medium to full-bodied, concentrated style. There is tremendous purity as well as flavor dimension. This opaque ruby/purple-colored offering is one of the finest de Fieuzals produced over the last decade. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2022. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #146, 2003

  11. Talbot Saint Julien 2000
    WA93
    $114.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points!  This was a strong performance (better than my original notes suggested) by the 2000 Talbot. Close to full maturity, it exhibits a dense ruby/plum/purple color in addition to a subtle herbaceousness intermixed with smoked meats, black currants, licorice, cedar, and foresty notes. Rich and full-bodied with light tannins, and a slightly richer, more savory, broader, deeper style than I remember, it should drink well for 10-15 years. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #189, 2010

  12. Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre Margaux 2000
    VM93
    $69.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The 2000 Bel-Air Marquis d’Aligre is like the 1986 on the nose: backward and broody, demanding coaxing from the glass. There are moss-like, undergrowth scents, a touch of morels emerging with time and then, after an hour, the nose blossoms and finds its groove. The fruit belatedly surfaces and you find yourself bewitched by the bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This is not a complex millennial Margaux however there is a beguiling sense of effortless class and poise that plenty of its Margaux colleagues crave. Towards the finish there are subtle notes of tobacco and terracotta that lend another layer of complexity. I just love this wine – one of the best vintages from Jean-Pierre Boyer. Tasted at the Bel-Air Marquis d’Aligre dinner. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

  14. Brane Cantenac Margaux 2000
    WA93
    $129.98
    Availability:In Stock
93 Points! The 2000 Brane-Cantenac is a blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. It has a really wonderful bouquet that is coming into its own: potent with black truffle and gravel infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline tang on the entry. It is not a powerful or huge wine, but there is impressive length here and genuine complexity on the finish, with black truffle, cedar and tobacco notes vying for attention. Henri Lurton oversaw a really quite fabulous, almost aristocratic Brane-Cantenac in this millennial year. Tasted April 2015. - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

  15. Lynch Bages Pauillac 2000 Magnum
    WS96
    JS95
    WA97
    $699.98
    Availability:In Stock
97 Points! Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
