The wine impressed us right out of the gate with its healthy ruby color and expressive aromas of cocoa, coffee, plum and macerated black cherry. I am Merlot, hear me roar! But the Cab Franc also comes into play, hints of tobacco, a touch of sweet leaf…no not that kind. On the palate this wine brought back a swirl of memories stateside of our tastings of this wine abroad. Substantial, ripe, heady, full of fruit, vibrant, lightly dusted by ripe tannins, this is serious Bordeaux that is on a mission…a mission to please.
