Domaine La Soumade Rasteau Cuvee Confiance 2016
96 Points! Nearly as great as the Fleur, the 2016 Rasteau Cuvee Confiance is 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Raspberry and mint notes appear on the nose, followed by a full-bodied, rich, velvety wine with a never-ending finish. Despite the incredible richness and concentration, the wine remains fresh and fragrant, lithe and agile, turning silky and lingering. It's another tremendous effort from the Romero family. - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate
94 Points! Based on Grenache (there’s some Syrah and Mourvèdre in the blend) aged in foudre, the 2016 Rasteau Cuvée Confiance offers a more elegant, medium to full-bodied style that’s going to age beautifully. Terrific notes of cedar wood, dried garrigue, and ample red and black fruits all flow to a medium to full-bodied, silky Rasteau that has building tannins and impressive depth of fruit. It has a good 10-15 years ahead of it. - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com
