94 Points! The 2019 La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou is matured for 12 months in 60% new oak. Interestingly, that Earl Grey tincture continues to define this very classically styled wine, enhancing the black fruit. Hints of ash emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and plenty of graphite-infused black fruit that render this quite Pauillac in style. Impressively persistent on the tobacco-tinged finish. 95 Points! Where you can drink Le Petit Ducru relatively soon, with La Croix you need to wait a few years for the structure to soften. The tannins are silky, the black fruits drenched in espresso, liquorice root spice and smoked oak. An extremely successful La Croix, sexy and powerful while still elegant and sculpted. Give it five or six years from now, and expect a drinking window of at least 15 years. Almost entirely from specific plots within the Ducru vineyard, plus a few young vines of the Grand Vin. 60% new oak.- Jane Anson

91 Points! From a single vineyard on Howell Mountain, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Coyote Loser shows some of that appellation's characteristic pine and blueberry nuances. It's medium to full-bodied, with ample concentration and ripe tannins, followed by a lingering, silky finish. Direct from the source! Mondoca is one of the finest sub-crus within the famous Bussia Vineyard in Barolo's Monforte d'Alba zone. Germano's is an outstanding example from a shining vintage, a warm year that produced lush, powerful wines with loads of fruit capable of extended aging. While starting to 'show' this wine has many years ahead of it...!

91 Points! This year, the 2019 Sologarnacha Amphora Aging was produced with grapes from a vineyard planted in 2017. It's "only" 13.5% alcohol (most of the other wines are much higher in alcohol) and has a perfumed and floral nose, showing some lightness after a short maceration to keep the more ethereal part of the variety. The wine matured in a clay tinaja for five months. Only 295 bottles were filled in July 2020. - Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com

91+ Points! More of a long distance runner is the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Vineyard. This wine still shows plenty of oak and notes of new saddle leather intermixed with graphite and black currants in a structured, full-bodied, youthful, almost infantile stage of development. I can’t imagine this wine has moved much from its post-bottling days. It still needs another 5-6 years of cellaring, and should keep for at least 20+ years. - Robert Parker, robertparker.com 2011
